I'd have gone with Cecil and its not just because I'm being a homer. Seems like over the last decade or so, we've placed all the emphasis (perhaps a fixation) on the passing game on judging the value of a qb, which I think is inaccurate. Cecil passed the ball much better than some people want to admit. Last I checked he was over 50% completion rate. And he threw a very nice ball, particularly the deep pass which I have to logically assume is the toughest to complete. And his running ability was beyond compare in N. Ky, maybe in the state. The only qb that could come close there is Elliott.

Why should a qb be judged based only on his passing accomplishments?

I don't think Elliott or Cecil have been judged on just passing? Elliott hurt CCH more with his legs than he did through the air. Two unbelievable athletes. My guess is that the perception, right or wrong, regarding HHS being strictly a running team hurt Cecil in the voting.

You must not of saw alot of football in NKY this year???? Bricking was better his Soph year and the other two wouldn't even be in my top 5 or 6....Clay Cecil is Northern Kentucky's Pat White and should at least be 2nd Team...No way no how Bricking should be on the 2nd Team...Just my opinion...:irked:

I agree, Cecil did an outstanding job this year. He is a great all around player and can hurt you with his legs and his arm. He should have made at least 2nd team IMO.

From the qbs I've seen this year, I'd say Elliot and Cecil are right up top. Their running abilities allowed them to takeover games. All you have to do is watch both of them in the 2nd half against Dixie, and you'll see what I mean. I think what hurt Cecil in this voting was Dale rotating the qbs earlier in the year. I didn't get to see Kues, but he did put up some solid numbers. Bricking put up good numbers, but he had a low completion percentage and a lot of interceptions. IMO, he digressed since his sophomore year. Bogle has the potential to be amongst the top candidates, but BC doesn't utilize him enough (at least not when I've seen him play).

:thumb::thumb::thumb: Right on with your post....

sorry, but got to ask this question. Looking at the list of all stars, it shows punters and kickers but no long snapper. Any idea why not? Punter can't punt if the ball doesn't get back to him; placekicker cant kick Xtra points or field goals without long snapper to get the ball to the holder.....I know, why just the long snapper and not the holder....etc etc etc....But I must ask: Long snapper is a tough job - so why no acknowledgement? I know of two high school teams whose player only does long snapping for punts, field goals, and extra points - that's it.....no other position....

Just wondering for all you purists out there.......

Congratulations to all the youngmen selected for the All-Star team.

Never mind and congrats to all that made the team. You all should be very proud of your accomplishments.

There were a lot more guys in the Enquirer yesterday. It had a break down of NKAC Div. 1 , 2, and 3. Lot more of our guys on that list. And yes congrats to all. Go Birds!
