Too institutionally different

This blanket response makes me laugh.

You have not said that it is not an advantage. Just trying to justify it.

It is an advantage. So what. Not all Private Schools have it. Some Public Schools have it.

My favorite responses are, it only covers a portion of the cost.

Glad you like the truth.

Not against the KHSAA rules,

Same as above

and if you have proof take it to the KHSAA.

If people did, investigators should do thier job and all violators should be punished.

There will be a split. No one will back off.

Did you hear about the so called, "Super CLass" that was discussed this weekend.

I am hearing big school supporters are more willing to comprimise if the situation changes with X and T.

I would be in favor of a Super Class.

Everyday we get closer and it's folks like you that will not accept that there is a problem that only help the cause. So I say , thank you.;)

;)

Is there a problem- yes, but it is not all at the feet of the Private schools as you belive. You said no boundaries- Open Enrollemnt schools? If recruiting is an issue and people don't take it to the KHSAA, how does that help the problem? Urban and Rural areas?

KHSAA is not the police. They have not policed anything in years.

Schools have been caught and punished. Just becase it wasn't the WLEX Big story doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I can only speak for Jefferson County -

Open Enrollment is limited to the district (Jefferson County).

Are you saying that in Jefferson County, there is no kid enrolled in a Jefferson County public school that does not live (or at least they are portraying themselves as living in) Jefferson County? There are NO out-of-district kids attending school in Jefferson County?

Maybe outside of Jefferson Co. they must pay tuition.

That is the way our county is. That is why many think open enrollment means everywhere when that is not the case for us. Open enrollment for us means within our county. Big difference.

If they allow people outside of the district that is open enrollment, too.

For districts with multiple schools, you have two choices in whether you are going to allow open enrollment. 1) within the district; 2) outside of the district.

For districts with one HS, open enrollment means coming from outside the district.

Wanted to give him a chance to be very clear on what he is saying.

I agree with you, we have two independent schools in our county, we have an agreemnet with those schools only. I was stating this because when people say open enrollment we are not like privates in taking students from many different counties. Folks need to understand the difference.

LBBC, we have run around this for a long time now, but it is not our fault that Jefferson Co. chose to do the kids a better service and open the enrollment, neither is it our fault (again Jeff Co.) that the talent pool is rich here, but not in rural areas. Lastly it is not our fault (again Jeff Co.) that counties in the state don't have open enrollment or are not rich in talent.

You may not be but you could. Question is whether open enrollment to draw from multiple counties would result in actually drawing students from multiple counties.

I absolutely agree with you. It is not anyone's fault necessarily. Doesn't mean that we operate on level playing fields either.

If we could recruit them we could.

If we could recruit them we could.

I guess technically you can. Don't the Jefferson County schools run ads in the Courier Journal promoting their public schools and why you should attend there?

Now a county school running an ad in another district's paper would be interesting.

Doesn't mean that we operate on level playing fields either.

Maybe not.....but then the seperation would have to be, city -vs- rural..iMO.

:D

I think that is what I have been saying since Jan 2007.:p

Honestly, every other state already thinks we're a bunch of rednecks and hicks. Could you imagine if we split our high school football into rural and urban classifications?

I can think of a few nicknames right now...
