It would take a monumental effort for CCH to win this game...monumental. I think CCH will struggle to move the ball consistently and I look for The Birds to break off a couple of 40+ yard plays to shorten the field dramatically.

L/N, my friend, I agree with running the ball because we do have a very good running game but I also think that you need to take what the defense will give you. If the defense has 8 in the box, one safety and db's off the line, and we have an over balanced line on offense, throw the quick pass, look at the tight end in the middle...mix it up. This style of play will only open up the running game that much more!!!

 

Look at the CovCath tape from the last time and you'll see we did just that when we needed to. Look at the LexCath tape and you'll see we did that when we needed to. For all the talk, people would assume we never pass the ball. And again, if you can run the ball when they have 8 in the box, why throw it at all?

 

I'm beginning to think that based on posts on here, people can figure out which posters have family members that are qb's and receivers and which posters have family members that are O linemen and running backs.

L/N, believe it or not I agree with what you are saying. With Cecil, Hurtt and Conner running the ball the way we have been able to, keep running until they stop you. The O-line has been doing a great job adjusting to the D overloading the box. If this becomes a problem then we need to adjust and open the O up a little bit. Thats all that I am saying, take what they give you and if you have to throw the ball use more of a high percentage type passing attack to accomplish this.

 

I don't really understand your remark about being able to tell what kid has a QB or RB versus a family member that has a lineman. I just giving my opinion from one former lineman to another. Who has family members that QB or run the ball... I'm confused???

I thought Highlands came out last week really fired up. Since NCBIRD is taking all of my airtime with LN that's all i can think of right now!!!!

I have to agree with a previous poster about the score not being as close as indicated the last time these two met. Highlands came out really flat that day and still won by 2 TD's and with some help from the Zebra's. I'm sure CCh has dramatically improved from the start of the season but so has you know who!!! My prediction of course is HHS 31-10.

I have read all of these posts from the Cov Cath faithful talking about how much better CCH is since they played in the regular season and that Highlands better watch out........Do you think that Highlands went undefeated and didn't get any better??? You are only fooling yourself if you believe that Highlands is not a better team than the one that played in Park Hills several weeks ago.

 

Highlands has not rolled in all of their games since Cov Cath. They had a few times that they were forced to play a little like the first half of Lex-Cath. They also were getting beat quite handily by a bigger, faster, very well-coached Central team 2 weeks ago. But, they and Coach Mueller came back and won. That's what great teams do. Highlands did not give up and they managed to string together some great drives and come away with a victory. As put by someone earlier, CCH a good team, but Highlands is great.

 

The thing that people don't get is that the back up players at HHS could probably start at a lot of other programs in NKY. So depth, strength, speed, and endurance is a key to GREAT programs. That is not a dig on other programs, just a compliment to those unsung heroes that don't get their name in the paper but are a very important part of prepping the team each week by running the opposing teams offense/defense/special teams. Here's to you, Mr. Scout Team player that is getting banged up week in and week out. Been there done that. I respect you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
