Which of the choices are the most embarassing for UK, for whatever reason. And why? I only included non-SEC games

2007 - Gardner Webb 84 UK 68 -- UK was handed a cupcake on their way to New York and choked on the filling. Bad loss for BCG in just game #2.

2006 - Kansas 73 UK 46 -- Kansas wore out UK on ESPN

2004 - UAB 76 UK 75 -- UK was a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament and entered the game with a 27-4 record.

2002 - Western Kentucky 64 UK 52 -- Little cousin came into Rupp and beat the 'Cats in the 2002 season opener

2000 - Dayton 68 UK 66 -- In what was supposed to be a breather, UK lost to the Flyers (in Cincy I believe)

1990- SW ST. 116 UK 113 -- UK was supposed to win the UKIT but lost in OT. SW State has the distinction of winning the final UKIT ever played.

1984 - Georgetown 53 UK 40 -- UK was 3/33 in the second half after leading at halftime in the Final Four

1982 - Middle Tennessee State 50 UK 44 -- UK lost to an OVC team in the first round of the NCAAs.

Gardner-Webb, 2007.

Most ebarrassing loss is that UK ran off a coach that averaged over 20 wins a year and set the program back at least 2 years no matter who the new coach is.

I don't remember alot of those, and getting blown out by Kansas, well it's still Kansas. It's not the Raging Bulldogs of Gardner Webb.

Can we put the IU loss from 07 on the list? :D

This one, WITHOUT A DOUBT, sticks out to me. I was at UK then and remember the halftime score: UK 29 Gtown 22. So 11 points in the second half in the final four.

He is the reason they are set back two years, he wouldn't do anything with these players. If he had stayed around any longer who knows how long we would have been set back. If you can be happy with 20 wins a year and a second round loss every year than he was the right man for the job, but most UK fans won't and shouldn't settle for that.

Truth hurts.

The one that sticks out in my mind that was even worse than this one and also at Rupp was the loss to Pitt (Darren Morningstar just lit it up) in 1991. Lost by 18 I think. That is the worst loss ever at Rupp IMO. So I guess mine is a write in vote.

For write ins, that is mine too. Sean Miller and the gang I believe. 85-68 sounds like the score. If I recall, Dickie V said, "No problem for UK with Pitt" and they killed us.

That can't be on the list. The immortal Rick was the coach and nothing he did could ever have been wrong.

Rick Pitino was perhaps the most disappointed of anyone that night. He commented about wanting to take "his team" home to New York City but Pitt ruined those plans. UK had about a two-week layoff before playing Massachusetts, who they routed. Look for something similar with Coach Gillispie's bunch in a couple weeks.

You just made the hssb man crush on Sean Miller a little more clear...
