Since we're all arguing about central locations, and since football in Marion County seems to be on the uptick, let's pass the hat all across the state and put that new 10,000-seat stadium right here:

A 10,000 seat stadium is only half the size of what you need. :devil:

 

If is even moderately good weather that weekend in December, it would be standing room only when St. X and Trinitity come to town. You'd have a lot of :mad:MAD:mad: Tigers and Rocks to deal with ...... How would that go over? Not very well I'm affraid.

If the KHSAA deicdes to move the football finals to Bowling Green, will the largest city in the state and the most high school athletes, not host a single state championship in any KHSAA sport???

What if the Site selection, was rotated across the state, using HS fields with synthetic turf.

 

Would that take in, each area of the state and could/would it be feasible?

 

As long as you leave the 6A game in Papa Johns or Commonwealth I think this would be okay.

I think Morehead State University would be an excellent place or Lexington.

 

Or EKU;

Or Murray;

Or NKU;

Or Georgetown;

Or _______________.

Can we make a list, of various Colleges across this great state, that have synthetic turf and possibly rotate.

 

Louisville - Northern area

Morehead - Eastern area

 

Moreheads facilities are not even close to being nice enough to host anything other than what they do now, non-scholarship football and a few high school games....................Belfry, Pikeville, Letcher Central, and Johnson Central make MSU look like a joke..............

What exactly are the problems, with Moreheads facilities, parking, stands, surface?....

What city is close to where I-64 and I-65 meet? It's just south of Louisville, just north of Bowling Green and just west of Lexington. Seems like that's pretty close to the middle for everyone.

 

Not saying there's a venue there but maybe St. X and Trinity can chip in some of their funds and build a stadium for their southern based students...

 

Garnis Martin Field in beautiful Bardstown, KY!!! Before/after the game everyone could mosey by My Old Kentucky Home, the Bourbon Heritage Center and St. Joseph's Cathedral (1 of the 1st 4 Catholic dioceses in the US along with Boston, New York and Philadelphia) -- sure to be a draw for the 6A game!

I'm confused. If the reason for this is that Louisville may not be able to host due to conflicts, why are we still saying Louisville should host it?

 

The ONLY problem I see with BG hosting it is that it will hurt attendance because the casual fan who doesn't have a team in the finals may not want to drive that far. Of course, that same fan that lives in the western part may now come.

 

The positive is that WKU's stadium will be a MUCH better environment that Papa John's. Its simply too big for the games' atmosphere if its not T and X playing. WKU's will be more intimate and add a great deal to the atmosphere. No player wants to play in a stadium where 75% of the seats are empty.

Per capita, who has more 'casual fans'. Logic would say Louisville, Lexington then BG...right?

I'm sure fans of the Beechwood Tigers would love to see the 1A game at Thomas More If and when they get that far .

NKU has a football stadium? Who knew.

 

They had a little dirt and some scrap aluminum left over from building the Bank Shot Arena.

As a former Hilltopper, I love the idea of having WKU host the state games. Personally, I really like the rotation idea if that works. But WKU would be a good site in that rotation. The city is really growing and Western is beautiful. Plus, there are some great restaurants in BG!
