EKU did that not Coach Hope.

 

What was the final in the JC game?? 60+ to 30 something??? Happy when was it OUT OF REACH???? Why not bring those position coaches down to the field to COACH. Hart would do the same thing if young kids were in and we were winning big.....

You're right, they did him wrong in not giving him the head job......but, from every source I heard from and from personal experience, Hart was still there in the off season for a little while after Hope was hired (of course, Im sure some of that had to do with not wanting to leave until he FOR SURE had a job elsewhere, which is smart)...either way, Hope and/or EKU messed up royally in letting such a fine man and coach go. That is for sure. I know you all are glad you have him! :thumb:

"Giving" I think he earned it being with Roy Kid all those years and then coming back after Elon didn't work out???

 

But, Yes most of us are glad to have Leon here. I know for a fact that he has taught the staff that is place a whole bunch of football!

Coach Hart is a wonderfull coach! Ashland had better hold on to him as long as they can. Coach Hart will take this team where they need to go. Just give the guy a break! He lost 24 seniors last season. That is tough to replace at a public school. I am sure that he will be just fine.

Coach Hart obviously has great credentials and the support and respect of a lot of football "people" in this state. Ashland fans would be well served to support the program and be part of the solution instead of trying to add to the problem. Coach Hart will turn things around, just support the program and let the coaches coach.

I'm surprised this thread has lasted this long. It appears, as Golden Gopher stated, to be another of a long line of attacks of the Ashland coaching staff by 1 particular poster. Certainly we have a right to be concerned with the state of affairs of each of our respective schools but I didn't think that this forum was designed to allow people to constantly attack others. Am I wrong???

Yep and Head Man at Elon University.

 

He is a very nice gentleman. I ran into him when he was at EKU. He told me that he was from Ashland, OH and had wanted to play at Ashland College (Ashland University,Ohio, Division II) but ended going to Marysville in TN. A very good man.

You are right, but it happens all to much. I joined BGP to promote football players and programs from North-Eastern Kentucky, but all to often people are attacking each other, rather then promoting players and programs.

This thread seems to be doing a pretty good job promoting Leon Hart and the Ashland football program even though that was not the reason it was created. The fact that only one person has persistently dogged Coach Hart during a down season speaks pretty well to the quality of the Ashland program. Tomcat football is in good hands, IMO.

Leon Hart, is a quality guy and coach. You would think everyone would learn their lesson about second guessing coaching, specially a coach with a successful history as Leon. UK fans were doing that......where are all of those critics that wanted him fired? Leon will have the program back on their feet next year. Be patient, let the coaches do the coaching and the fans do the cheering (NOT BOOING!) And you are right AcesFull, this is a thread that is promoting Leon, even though it was started to discredit his abilities as a coach.

I guess he said on his post game interview that Ashland is only 6 players away from 4a and it appeared that it was he was making excuses for this years preformance. I also heard that the coaching staff may off took off their headsets in the 3 quarter and pretty much gave up. I was just wondered what everyone thinks of the situation?

 

This was designed to try and get peoples opinions of the coaches comments not to attack him or downgrade him.

I didn't hear the comments so I can't comment on them but I will say that Coach Hart is an excellent football coach and an even greater person. The Tomcat program is fortunate to have a guy at the helm like coach Hart.

Ashland had a season that no coach, player or fan wants to experience but sometimes they happen. I'm sure the players and the Ashland coaching staff gave a full effort each week and no one wanted to reach success anymore than they did. Though the season didn't go as planned, there were many positives that occured and I am sure the Tomcats will build off of those to begin preparation for next season.

 

Ashland had a very young football team and will have some very talented players returning for 2008 so the future for Tomcat football is still bright.

Russell does not beat Ashland every year. Ashland has a fine program.

When games get out of reach, it is typical for coaches to take off the head set and concentrate on getting other players in the game and working those plays that the younger ones know. I'm not from Ashland or a fan but I know that Coach is a good man and a good coach.

Sometimes when a sermon is extremely long, some of us in pew number four on the right side of the church take our loafers off a bit before the service is actually over, yet we've never been expelled from the church and somehow I still was able to listen to all of the sermon. Don't know if the correlation to the headsets is the same, just thought I'd chime in.

FWIW, Coach Biggs I'm sure doesn't mind having his "football players" on the gym floor a little early.
