Especially considering that 1) The player pulled that stunt intentionally to deceive the defense and 2) the official knew in advance what the kid was going to do and then sat back and watched it happen. From the article... I agree, this was a HUGE injustice and I cannot believe that it wasn't reviewable. This Cat fan says the Cards got the shaft on this one. Absolutely pitiful. And RP is 100% correct, that swung Big Mo which is HUGE in ballgames. I cannot restate how pitiful this was.
October 22, 200718 yr Thats impossible to do in that situation. I mean if a guys calls fair catch and you hit him, then its going to be a penalty on you. In that situation as a player, you got to have faith that the refs would actually know what they were doing when a guy calls fair catch... :thumb:

From the article... If I were the young man with the big mouth, I would fully expect to have my rear end nailed and my head detached from my body when fielding a punt in a lopsided game. Stunts like that.....

October 22, 200718 yr First: This play did not cost Louisville the game. It was a horrible call but Louisville still had a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter and couldn't stop UConn when they had to. Second: As at least one official on this board has stated the whistle doesn't end the play. Had the Louisville player blasted the UConn guy we would all be reading how much of a cheap shot it was.

October 22, 200718 yr That is assuming that UConn doesn't score on the possesion. I know it changed the complexion of the game but to be quite honest after seeing the way this coaching staff manages games I have little or no confidence that they would have been able to hold a 17 point lead.
