October 22, 200719 yr I had heard about this play but had not watched it. Wow. That's what you call a blown call. What is it about UL, bad calls, and kicks in close games? http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071022/COLUMNISTS02/710220456/1028/rss0702
October 22, 200719 yr Wow, that sounds like a bush league stunt. I'd like to see a clip of the play. It was pretty obvious. The defenders were closing quickly, and the return man raised his right arm and swept it from left to right above his head. Everybody (including his teammates) eased up, and then he caught it and took off. Worst call I've ever seen.
October 22, 200719 yr Definitely a blown call... I wish that it wasn't too late to do anything about it. Nothing they can do now is going to make that right for the Cardinals.

October 22, 200719 yr Did they issue a press release on the punt that bounced of UL's Carter and UConn recovered on the 1, only to have them give the ball to UL?
October 22, 200719 yr How in the world can that not be reviewable? The purpose of the replay review is to keep gross injustices from occuring. This is one of the most baltant officiating errors I have ever witnessed. U of L fans, players, etc. should be ticked. I am and I'm a UK fan.:irked: PS-Somehow I bet if the U of L player had hit the punt returner he would have got a flag.
October 22, 200719 yr When things are going bad...........everything seems to go the other way.
October 22, 200719 yr Bad (Horrible) call....but like the announcers said, play to the whistle. Is a whistle even blown before the fair catch is made? If he muffs it, its still a live ball. You can't ignore a player signalling a fair catch. Although, if I were UofL, I would from now on.
October 22, 200719 yr Did they issue a press release on the punt that bounced of UL's Carter and UConn recovered on the 1, only to have them give the ball to UL? That play wasn't nearly as clear cut. It hit SOMEONE, but the UofL and UConn players were locked up. Very difficult to say 100% who it hit.

Alabama guy called for a fair catch, official blew the whistle the second it touched the guys hands and he never caught the ball. UK immediately recovered but to no avail.
