Who else has Harmony played and what was the result?

 

I think this is an embarrassment for UK to lose to Harmony. However, I think the reason UK played this game was to access Harmony's talent, not to let the JV play some ball.

 

I agree 100%.

College JV teams are littered with walk-ons and players that don't even get to practice with the varsity. My junior/senior year of college I roomed at UK with 2 guys that had played JV at Clemson--neither had played beyond high school JV. Anyone that thinks that Hartline is seriously UK's backup is mistaken--if Woodson is injured he won't be taking snaps.

 

Who is it going to be then? Fidler? Lentz? No. Hartline has taken snaps in real games this year. I dont know who you think will take the snaps, but I'd sure like to hear it.

I agree with strong... that Fidler will end up at TE, and I think Pulley will play a WR / Slash role for the 'Cats next year -- not the every down QB. Joker has said that he would like to think that Pulley will be the starter next year since he has the most experience and ability.

Like I said, if they are going to morph into a running style attack (and given their stable of backs that makes some sense), than I think that makes sense. However, if they are going to continue to run more of a pro-set with the same type of passing attack they have this year, than I'd go with Hartline.

 

What will Pulley have left, 1 or 2 years of eligibility? If it is the former I'd most assuredly go with someone else and utilize Curtis all over the field.

Curtis Pulley has two years of eligibility left. I feel certain that UK's offense will be greatly modified next year. I have been told that Curtis Pulley will, barring something unforeseen, be the quarterback next year. Keep in mind, Andre Woodson is a very unusual commodity for Kentucky......a homegrown, pro-style quarterback. His combination of passing ability and size is very uncommon. Mike Hartline has Andre's height and is much more mobile, but is not in his league in other areas.

 

I see UK running more of a spread offense to better utilize their personnel. And also, to help mask an offensive line that will never be near the best in the SEC as far as size or talent goes.

From what I hear, Pulley will be the starter come Spring ball and it is his job to lose. Heard he is working out hard and should really be able to run the show next year.

Who was Rich Brooks' offensive coordinator from 1989-1994?

 

Mike Bellotti, now the Head Football Coach at Oregon and designer of the Oregon-spread. Coach Brooks obviously has a very close relationship with him and can easily access all of the intricacies of the offense through Bellotti.

 

I personally think this would be a great move to help out what is always going to be a less than steller offensive line at UK. You can occassionally recruit one great quarterback, or one great running back, or one great receiver and immediately impact your offense, but it takes five good offensive lineman. Kentucky will always have a difficult time recruiting enough of the great "Big Uglys".

Everyone acted like Urban Meyer's offense wouldn't work in the SEC either. If Pulley is UK's QB, then incorporating a heavy dose of that spread option (Oregon, West Virginia, Florida, etc) would seem to be playing to their strengths.

 

I don't buy that argument that this offense or that offense won't work in the SEC. If you have the players to run it and your execution is good, then the offense will work anywhere.
