October 6, 200719 yr Don't know if this is a good sign for the future? http://www.ukathletics.com/index.php?s=&url_channel_id=39&url_article_id=20717&change_well_id=2
October 6, 200719 yr Gametime knows more about Harmony than I do. I would just add this. I think UK DOES need to worry to some extent about who will go under center next season. Mike Hartline still needs a great deal of work, and this performance doesn't reassure me at all. Curtis Pulley is a complete ? for next season if you ask me. Matt Lentz? Who knows...' UK has limited schollys for next year. I hope Brooks and Joker are keeping one open for a QB, just in case we get late attention for a solid prospect.
October 6, 200719 yr Harmony is LOADED with D 1 talent. I wouldn't look too much in to it... Who else has Harmony played and what was the result? I think this is an embarrassment for UK to lose to Harmony. However, I think the reason UK played this game was to access Harmony's talent, not to let the JV play some ball.

Not positive on the full schedule, but I know they played and beat the Marshall JV a few weeks ago. I agree it was more to check out Harmony than it was a serious game for the UK reserves...
October 7, 200719 yr One of UK's top recruits last year and one of the better ones in the south plays at Harmony, I believe, DJ Stafford. I seriously doubt that any real key contributors on the varsity played significant minutes.

I understand, but a true top 20 football team should have plenty of studs on their JV team/2nd and 3rd teams.
October 7, 200719 yr Well, to give an idea of who was playing, they did play David Jones at RB when he hadnt played there since high school.
October 7, 200719 yr I understand, but a true top 20 football team should have plenty of studs on their JV team/2nd and 3rd teams. College JV teams are littered with walk-ons and players that don't even get to practice with the varsity. My junior/senior year of college I roomed at UK with 2 guys that had played JV at Clemson--neither had played beyond high school JV. Anyone that thinks that Hartline is seriously UK's backup is mistaken--if Woodson is injured he won't be taking snaps.

October 7, 200719 yr This year, I'd venture to say Fidler, but next year it will be Pulley under center, IF he's back on the team
October 7, 200719 yr If Andre Woodson was to be injured this year, Mike Hartline would be the quarterback. Barring several unforseen injuries, Will Fidler will not play quarterback. He will be moved to tight end during spring practice.

I can guarantee you that not all college JV teams are "littered" with walk ons and players that don't play. The whole purpose of JV is to get players reps that have either been injured and are on their way back into the rotation, or players that are not quiet ready to play varsity yet.
