LexCath will win a close one . Just a gut feeling and I have a big gut .

Highland 45 Lexington Catholic 14.

No clue on score though I'd give Lex Cath's defense a little credit, they seem to be one of the stronger units this year besides a pretty ugly performance against St. X. From everything I've heard this year the Knight's offense seems to lack the QB leadership of past seasons but if Israel can find some holes then I think Highlands should be a little worried because this kid is one heck of a running back and the O-line is definately better then some Lex Cath has boasted in the past. I think Highlands should win this just based off of everything I've heard about Lex Cath first hand from my pops and other people but then again it is in Lexington and the Knights have a lot more speed then some people seem to reckon.

Da Birds are definitely capable of posting a nice win at LexCath, however, this week they've also definitely got to put a lid on fumbles and fifteen yard penalties! How is the LexCath passing attack? IMO, the HHS defense may be susceptible to giving up mid-range yardage to a good passing team that can protect their passer.

Having relatives who went to Lex. Cath. and living in Ft. Thomas, I definately have the upmost respect for the Knights. They always have a solid offensive line and a few killer speed guys to go with it. Not to mention that they always seem to come through, late in games. But as far as this matchup, I have a hard time imagining Lex. getting within 7 points of Highlands. The birds are just too good this season and honestly are on track to go undefeated.

 

My final prediction is:

 

Highlands- 24

 

Lex. Cath.- 10

I am sure that St. X will have something to say about who 'the best team in the state' is.

Highlands can wear the best team in the state crown. We're just going to try to survive in 6A. Besides, it would hurt our feelings to see someone match some other team in championships!

I think this will be a very close game; won by Drew Bathiany's foot. And I'm hoping that happens. The Birds need to be in a reallly close game before the playoffs and I think Lex Cath is the team that's going to make that happen. Letten's a smart coach and will have the Knights ready. Plenty of talent and speed on the LexCath team.

I agree with Ln. I think that this game will be a lot closer than people expect. I think the Birds win by 7 to 10 pts. This will be a great challenge for the Birds with LexCath's speed and quickness. Have a good week of practice and bring it on Friday. Go Bird's!
