October 6, 200719 yr I can't see Krag getting blamed for the defensive woes unless he brought in his own guy and even then it could be a case of getting the right kids for the system they play.
October 6, 200719 yr This is unbelieveable... College football's next national powerhouse is struggling big time...
October 6, 200719 yr The Titanic is sinking. The ship that couldn't be sunk. U of L is on a collison course with the cellar of the Big East. One year wonder. 10,000 votes to sink by the end of the 3rd quarter as voted by the fans. What should a program do? Build an addition to the stadium!!!!!!
October 6, 200719 yr Can I assume that most of the above posts are from UK fans who are frustrated over the recent superiority of UL football? Wouldn't it be interesting for these two to play each other again in a bowl game at the end of the season? I think all Kentuckians should promote it. It would give each a chance to prove who is better in the Commonwealth. Why not? Neither is likely to land a big bowl bid. Neither will remotely win its conference. So, can anyone think of a bigger gate attraction (at least for many locals) than a rematch. It would sure be a sellout. It makes sense.

UK 40-UL 34 in case you missed it.

I would support it if the SEC and Big East met up in any bowl matchups.

October 6, 200719 yr Do you really think that UL will be bowl eligible? I hope UL makes it. Personally, I'm no more a fan of one program than the other. However, I do think a rematch could be a great matchup- gamewise, fanwise, and moneywise. UK won on a last minute bomb late in the game at Lexington. If we are all honest, I think we must admit that that game didn't prove much of anything. If you take off your blue glasses and try to be objective, I'll bet you will agree. Why get all hyped up over another sublevel bowl appearance against someone like the sixth ACC team or the eighth Big Ten team or whatever meaningless matchup can be arranged? UK vs. UL would fill most stadiums. Brohm vs. Woodson one more time and at the end of the season. It would be an outstanding matchup. UK fans may have been convinced that they are better since they escaped with the homefield win. I'll bet it didn't convince very many UL people. Let's promote one more game.:ylsuper:
October 6, 200719 yr I've tried to be patient with the whole defense situation, but IMO, after 5 games, there should have been more improvement than there has been. I just don't know what the problem is. I hate to say it, but I really dont know if UL will even be bowl eligible this year....
October 6, 200719 yr I really feel for BB. He's having the best statistical year of his career. I'm not sure what the records are but if he keeps this pace up he's going to be real close to setting single season records in everything and yet his team might not make a bowl game.

I am in no way trying to diminish anything Brohm has been doing, but a lot of his great numbers have been coming as of a result being behind in virtually every game. It is not a good thing his numbers are as good as they are, if that makes sense.
October 6, 200719 yr That was a painful game to be at... it was painful during the Syracuse game, but at this point you'd expect to see the team improving, but they looked so much worse. The defensive line has been playing like the mafia has threatened to not make a tackle. Unreal. I'm honestly considering walking on, and I wish I was less than half joking.

I am definately a UK fan, but I normally cheer for U of L in every other game and I must say that I'm disappointed with the product they've put on the field this year. After 5 games, its hard to come up with legitimate excuses. They flat out stink on defense and that's pretty much the bottom line.
