October 6, 200719 yr Is UofL REALLY going to go forward with the stadium expansion? I live in the metro area and listen to the local radio. I just don't think they are a program that can support 63000 + seats. Am I off base? UofL fans? Millions of dollars better spent somewhere else. What about non revenue sports that don't have a chance to see these kind of facilities? U of L will not fill up or sell out another 20,000 seats. They had a good thing going. This is not enough to mortgage the house on. Without the ticket sales - tution is going up. What does this have to do with football? Everything. Football results are bad - you won't sell the 40,000 you have now next year. No tradition of selling out. Come on Louisville - get better and make it up the last half of the season!
October 6, 200719 yr The defense is playing with no emotion at all. The uncovered receiver on the fake field goal was horrible! They tried that earlier...but got a penalty because the receiver didn't come inside the numbers.....this time he did, and nobody saw him....even most of the fans.... on a side note..the crowd was awesome and supportive throughout the bulk of the game.
October 6, 200719 yr I just looked at UL's schedule. Qualification for a bowl game doesn't look very likely. Too bad. That UK-UL rematch sure sounded good. But, at least, we may get a T-X rematch which will probably be better anyway.

I'm not disagreeing with you because I wasn't at the game. However, Chris Spielman was really admonishing the Cardinal fans for leaving early and giving up on the game when they still had Brian Brohm at quarterback. He made it sound like a bunch jumped ship midway through the fourth quarter.
October 6, 200719 yr A bunch did leave when the score got to 41 - 20.......but there was no booing last night, everyone was into the game...
October 6, 200719 yr A bunch did leave when the score got to 41 - 20.......but there was no booing last night, everyone was into the game... Okay gotcha, I'm never sure when to believe the announcers and I was watching the replay at about 4 a.m. so I wasn't really paying attention to see if they showed the crowd or not.
October 6, 200719 yr Ok.. One Card fan with the guts to say a stadium expansion makes no sense. Any other takers?
October 6, 200719 yr Author A bunch did leave when the score got to 41 - 20.......but there was no booing last night, everyone was into the game... During the game Chis Spillman pretty much called the Card fans "fairweather"
October 6, 200719 yr I listened to 1570 this morning... Even those guys are ready to jump ship. I heard that Howie Lindsay (how I think everyone will agree is Mr. HOMER CARD) thinks Louisville will not become bowl eligible. Wow.
October 6, 200719 yr During the game Chis Spillman pretty much called the Card fans "fairweather" I don't really care if he thought that or not....I don't leave until the final buzzer, I certainly don't want fools there, that don't want to be there.
October 6, 200719 yr I think I speak for everyone on this site that knows you RockPride, when we say "We know YOU will be there no matter what" They question is, are thre 63000 fans like you? Take a step back, be honest with yourself, and tell me WHY you think UofL can support that large a stadium, year in - year out.
October 6, 200719 yr After watching every single game in great detail, and re-watching most of them...I see two very glaring problems....1 - is the fact that Bobby didn't recruit a good punter, anywhere, that became an issue in last night's game, 2 - the d-line is extremely out of shape....they can not play a full game....it is real bad, how poorly conditioned they are. I actually think the DB's are getting better, but when you don't pressure the QB, it's tough to cover guys so long. Well I have not watched every game or every play, but I would say that UL has more glaring problems than the punter and the D'line. They do have a high powered offense, but the defense is poor, and so many players have been in trouble, as well as injuries. Everything is going bad for UL right now. I don't know if they can do much better than just get bowl eligible.

Well because 1 - the city is growing corporate wise, which will help with the extra suite sales....the extended seating has been addressed at very reasonable seating, and I know quite a few people that would love to go, but can't swing the current season ticket prices...
