Is South Florida overrated??

Featured Replies

Research what he said and what he meant, there are different standards for the ACC/SEC, and South Florida got some kids.

The statement is 100% false. It was a slam on the team and conference and was a flat out lie...

Gentlemen, let's back the testosterone down and get back on the path of South Florida being overrated.

Enough of the personal attacks.

The statement is 100% false. It was a slam on the team and conference and was a flat out lie...

And if you are the head of a team and go out of your way to make these statements you are begging for the criticism. Larry is in a tizzy over Saban catching (deserved) flack for it but pays no mind to what Saban (undeserved) called the USF football program.

Larry, I'd go to Tidefans but I'd have to .... never mind.

He's a horse's petoot - always has been - great coach though.

So what if USF got some kids? If you think he was just simply "pointing that out" you're being naive. Its the classic big brother concerned about little brother and it shows what many already know about him - classless.

I have a close relative who is a professor at USF and has been there for YEARS. She stated that their coach is a class act and is interested in how these kids to academically. He has given some kids a chance that were borderline on their academics, but they have risen to the challenge. The staff at the university likes this guy and the way his kids are putting USF on the map. He seems to be a good judge of character and football talent. His defense is performing very well and keeping them in games.

The comment about Coach Kidd doing it for years is very accurate. However, I never said that Coach S did it first, just that this was the first thing he did was tap into the deep pool of talent in Florida.

I don't think USF is the 6th best team in the nation, but with the way the polls work, they are absolutely deserving of their spot. Besides that, they have two nice wins on their resume...@ Auburn and West Virginia. At this point in the season, those two wins are as good as anyone else can claim, IMO.

Exactly. Well said!!

Did y'all miss the part when I mentioned Coach Saban let the leading rusher in our spring game go to South Florida. We lost a scholarship there that could have went to another kid.

Bama has higher standards on the SAT/ACT than a lot of schools nation wide.

I know of several kids and can prove it.

Coach Saban was asked a question and with the way reporters like to stir the pot, he kept asking more questions. Coach should have not mentioned any school. Bad judgement..Not classless.

USF has lost eight kids also through academic ineligbilty.

We lost Mike Ford and he got into USF, Mike didn't qualify at Bama. Maybe Coach was thinking out loud.

Of all the problems Bama has had with other coaches I've never used name calling and never will. People don't want to see their coaches called names by others...I'm a people.

I don't see how a team who has beaten two top 25 teams can be overrated.

If the big east is going to have anything to crow about they better hope USF is legit.

Why do you say that? When the top SEC teams beat up on each other, the story is that the SEC is a meatgrinder. When the top Big East teams beat up on each other, the conference doesn't have anything to crow about? Considering it has only eight teams, I think the Big East is a darn tough conference. If LSU loses a game, will that mean the SEC doesn't have anything to crow about?

Just like you said....It will be because the SEC is SOOOO tough, and not because the guys at the top may not be as good as advertised. I had this discussion on here a week or so ago.
