Rich Brooks on Jim Rome...

Featured Replies

I agree with Coach Brooks USC and the whole Pac 10 are over rated the only credibility people are saying is oh but Cal whipped up on Tennessee. Tennessee may be the 7 or 8th best team in the SEC where Cal is almost certainly number 2 in the Pac 10 and most people thing they can beat USC this year.

Everyone agreed that the Pac-10 is not comparable to the SEC and the SEC may be the best conference in the country. This has nothing to do with the other Pac-10 teams. Brooksy even said, "The difference between SC and the other Pac-10 teams is their outstanding defense. They all have offense, but SC has defense too."

However, there's no way that there are 5 USC teams in the SEC...

I wish he were. But unfortunately he wasn't.

Still, that's only 3...

I did not hear the interview, so I cannot speak to how he meant to answer.

But, how is one supposed to respond to the question, "Is there anyone in the SEC that can beat SEC."

"Umm, no. Maybe LSU and on a good day Florida. USC is head and shoulders above us all. UK would have no shot."

I know that answer (while it is probably the truth), would not fly at all.

It all started when Brooks himself brought it up and said there were 4-5 USC's in the SEC.:scared:

Good old Rich... Nobody ever said he was smart.

I couldn't stop laughing. He even tried to pass off Arkansas even though USC beat them by about 60 last year...

I'm a UK football fan. I tuned in just to hear Rich. He blew that. Rome said, "Are you serious? You really think so?" Brooks said, "Yes, I really do." Rome said, "Okay, LSU and Florida, I'll give you that but who else?" He said, "Arkansas started playing a lot better after they played USC last year and Auburn could've a few years ago...and Tennessee and we could this year.":scared::scared:

That was just an "off night" for Arkansas............odd how USC seems to play teams when they are having "off nights" though.;)

Maybe Brooks was thinking that.........no wait.

Maybe Brooks was thinking that...........no wait not that either.

Maybe Brooks was thinking that maybe.......no wait

Ok I cant think of anything for Brooks on this one.

Whatever he said, and in whatever context, people are listening...

Brooks knows his stuff, as everyone is finding out.

Maybe Rich was talking about the USC Gamecocks.

I dont know if his statement would be true even if he was :D

What does last year have to do with this year?

Ask Rich. He's the one that brought it up... :p

Laughing at Brooks is not a good way to come across as smart. :D

USC lost two conference games last year and won three others by a touchdown or less...So yes, there are teams in the SEC that would beat USC on any given Saturday...
