My point, which I guess I was not clear on, was more about the talent level on Augusta's 8th grade. I think we all at times look at the small schools and think they are not capable of having good classes and so forth or doing some of the things the larger schools do. It is rare that it happens, but it seems to run in cycles!

The 8th grade Bulldogs defeated Adair County by 12 to improve to 14-3 on the season. The 7th grade Bulldogs won big over Adair County to improve to 10-4. The 6th grade Bulldogs are 18-0, all 3 teams play Northern tomarrow at Pulaski County High School starting at 2:30 EST.

Agaist Northern today,the 6th grade won by 40+ to go 19-0. The 7th lost by 15+/-, and the 8th won by as many as they wanted, 20+/-. Northern's 7th grade is a nice squad with a ton of potential upside. They can't play with Meece yet, but maybe someday. Next up for CCMS will be South Laurel, in London, on Jan 4th. That 7th grade game could be ugly. South is very talented in the 7th.

Southerkyhoops, South Laurel, has lost their PG Sanders, for 6 to 8 weeks. Their other good player Sears, is nursing a knee. South Laurel's lost their 2 top scores and team leaders.

Highlands 7th grade team just lost their point guard Dupont for 6-8 weeks with wrist injury, right on the heels of Collinsworth coming back. Time to juggle the lineup.

South Laurel, 7th grade PG Sanders, broke his leg last Tuesday night at Boyle County, in the final 2 Min's, of the 8th grade game. Big loss for the Card's, but their still a very athletic group of players, if sears gets back from his sore knee, south should be fine with the help of Rader.

 

Their defense wins a lot of games for them the have lots of team speed. The Rader, Mitchell, Penington and Byrd kids are very quick and pressure the ball hard. They will need Sears, for scoring with Sanders out for the next 6 weeks.

 

Just a tough break for the Card's and Sanders.

The kid's a stud. I've watched him play for South Laurel, the Suns and the Ville and his style of tenaciously attacking the rim is unbelievable to watch. He, along with the kid from Somerset, has the best handle in the game in the state of KY. Hopefully he's a quick healer and we can see him back in action very soon!

Highlands 7th is participating in a scrimmage on Thursday out at Brossart. They will play St. Mary's 7th and Tichenor (Lloyd feeder), the Birds have beaten both teams and lost to Tichenor in the finals of the ST. Henry tournament. This should be a good day of basketball out in Alexandria.

 

They come back on Friday morning and scrimmage St. CAtherine Sienna 8th graders as well.

1pm at Brossart. I know they have atleast one game now. I am hearing Tichenor backed out. I know they said that the Birds will be playing St. Mary and I also believe St. Mary's picked up a couple extra kids. Not a big deal as the Birds just want some game action to work out the pumpkin pie.

This is not a St. Marys team, I believe the name of the team is the Celtics. They are primarily made up of St. Marys kids but this is a team selected for a boys planning on attending BBHS.

Ok, so I am assuming it is kids from various parochial schools that they have selected to play who will be attending Brossart. Even better, the Birds love the competition.
