So, which team is Dishman playing for -- 6th or 7th?

Dishman is playing for the 7th grade team.

The 7th grade team has had academic problems this year. Last week we had only six kids dress due to low grades. One of those kids was sick so we thought there were only going to have five dress. A few of the sixth graders were asked to dress due to the low numbers.I agree with the administration, if you are not making the grades you don't need to be playing until you get them up.:irked:

My post referenced the 8th grade team at Summit View. The game the 8th graders played on that Sunday was a twenty plus point loss to Twenhofel. I believe you saw the Summit View 7th grade team, which is a very strong team. They didn't lose a game last year (37-0, I believe). They lost their first game this year when two starters had to sit out, but have won 4 straight since. They are a very impressive team.

I was speaking about the 7th. Thanks.

South Laurel's 7th Grade, won 71 to 6 over Jackson Co. starters only payed the 1 st qtr and part of the 2nd. South's 7th grade improve their record to 14 and 0, 8th grade won 67 to 44, 6th grade lost 40 to 30.

Conner 7th defeated Highlands 7th tonight 47-36. Fogle for Cougars was hot from 3pt land in first half. Must have had 14 first half points. Birds played decently but got outrebounded by a ton.

Meece Middle (Somerset) went to Corbin last night. 6th grade lost their first game this year in a very close one (by 2 pts). The 7th grade won easily. The 8th grade got beat in a close one also. Foul trouble in the second quarter got the Jumpers in the hole and they ended up loosing by 5.

Somerset plays Northern (Pulaski Co.) for the first time in 3 years on Thursday.

Corbin 8th is undefeated with wins over Lynn Camp, Whitley co.,Wayne co.,North Laurel,East Jessamine,Lexington Catholic and Meece......Keep up the good work..

Highlands 7th grade smoked the Two Rivers Middle School (Holmes) team tonight 52-30 at home. Backcourt tandem PG Colin Dupont (16pts, 6asists, 3 steals) Bailey Witte (9pts, 3 assists, 2 steals) led the way against a very aggressive and deep Two Rivers Squad. Jumping out to a 16-8 lead after one period the Birds handled the press well and Dupont was the General on the floor tonight. Frontcourt scoring was led by Donovan McCoy with 8pts and 6+ rebounds and David Christian with 8pts and 5+ bounds. Halftime score was 28-18 as the Birds maintained their lead throughout. Highlands held their opponent to 4 points in the 4th period on tough man-man defense. This was a quality win against a very athletic/pressing team in Two Rivers. They go 12 deep with players and were constantly harrassing the Birds. Rounding the scoring out was Zac Carter with 5pts off the bench and a huge rejection off a fastbreak layup that turned into a change of possession.

Birds definitely go as their Point guard goes so hopefully Dupont can maintain consistency with scoring and dishing out assists. Fun to watch tonight as they handed it to the Holmes boys.

Heard from one of their coaches that they (Two Rivers) spanked the Camp. Co Purple team by 25pts recently. Can anyone confirm this?

Twenhofel and Summit View play thursday night at Twen. Should be a good match up with the 7th graders.

I can see where they may have gotten on top of CCPurple. They have some bigger kids but I wasnt impressed with their ballhandling as a team. The two rivers kids get after it but our ballhandling amongst not just the guards but the 4 and 5 spot against the press was key. They took care of it and hit the open man. They will turn the speed of the game up a notch.

The gamespeed the other night wen HMS played PC was nowhere near what it was tonight. Our PG was exhausted after this one as were many of the boys.

I know the team and the boys we played them twice last year.

Their press did not bother are guards and the bigs helped out also.

They are a very athletic team.

Summit has a starter out.. They are still solid but he's a leader for them.

Birds have been missing a spot starter for 5 games now but they are getting quality play at the guard spots as of late. Mainly miss the boy's defense and athleticism. He wont be back until early January at best.
