Also, I think he termed CCH/HHS the biggest or best rivalry in the state (I don't think he was talking about just NKY but I would have to go back and watch it). I agree it is a huge rivalry but I don't see how anyone can begin to put it on the same level with T/X.

I'd say it is definately in the top 3, but I agree that it doesn't compare to T/X. The only reason you could argue that it is as big is because of the fact that T has pretty much dominated the last few years.

I just wish that Coach Ray would come back and coach because he has probably forgotten more football than most of us have ever known. He is a great coach, and more importantly a great human being. Don't take pot shots.......your better than that.

I would put CovCath/Highlands a solid runner up to T/X in the state. Of course Ray didn't coach at T/X, so his choosing CovCath/Highlands is understandable.

I believe it was Coach Ray that took the pot shot in the interview Re: running up the score. As for me, I'm just stating facts. I really would like to see him coaching CCH again and he really did lose about 90% of the time he played against the Birds.

That forever will be Coaches Mueller's and Schrader's worst game in their tenure at Highlands. Why they didn't run Ben Pogue behind Kunhein in the second half is beyond me. That and CovCath just flat out wanted it.

Personally I think it is sad for anyone to be still upset about a game that happened years ago. He had a chance to be the elder statesman of Cov Cath football and high school sports but choose to be less than statesman like. I thought it made him look very petty and may have tarnished his image with some.

I agree. I asaw trhe interview; but didn't catch the quote being referenced here. But if he said these things, I think it reflects poorly on him.

 

As for the biggest rivalry, T/X may be the biggest in shear numbers of fans involved; but the HHS/Cov Cath battle matches it completely in importance, passion, and state-wide interest. In fact, with the general dislike for both "all things Louisville", and (more recently) "all things private school," it could be argued that the HHS/Cov Cath rivalry carries a slight edge in state-wide interest.
