97 or 98 I think.

No that was in 95(55-7)I think. 97 and 98 were against the GCL teams of M and X both losses. In 94 we played Ben Davis very tough in Indy. My younger brother was on that team both years we played. Ben Davis was rank in the Top five back in those days and we were still running the veer O. We had great LB;s that year(shawn and Reggie) as we do this year, kind of ironic if you think about it with the X game coming up this Friday. If we had been running a more open attack on O in those days the game would have been even better.

Or if the officials don't call back Shaun's 99 yard fumble return...

I'm going to be lazy here, but when was the last time that Trinity was "blown out" by anyone? Not trying to be smart here, but I can't remember a "blow out" (other than the one Lou X meltdown-I don't count that. :D)

That makes us even RM, cause we don't count the ten minute game from last year either.:D

Rocks took a tough one in '95 (40 - 0). '04 (36 - 18 ) and '05 (48 - 16). While the '04 and '05 scores may not be viewed as "Blown out", they were rather one sided and convincing W's for the Tigers. There is no question about the '95 Rout, it was a blow out... I dont see this happening this week against Cincy St. X. Trinity has an excellent team this year, full of seasoned skill players (LB's, OL's and RB) so the Rocks will compete Friday and do very well......

Do Catholic schools in Ohio compete for separate titles than do publics in football? For example, are Elder and Colerain playing for the same state title?

The answer to your question is "NO".... all public and privates compete for the same titles in Ohio.......the only way it should be. There are over 700 high schools in Ohio competing in six classes while just over 200 high schools in Kentucky also compete in six classes. A JOKE!

By the way, I have never heard of public schools in Ohio complaining about the advantage the Catholic schools have over the public schools in football the way people complain in Kentucky!

They do dress similar numbers, but X dresses all Juniors and Seniors minus 2 sophomores, a 6-4 QB and a 260 lb. OT.

The St. Xavier Bombers will dress over 70 seniors.

Now that is a real credit to their program.

^ CR nice analysis yet your not giving your team much credit. The points you raise are valid. Yet, Trinity has not shone a propensity to "travel" poorly under Beaty, so I'm not sure that will be a factor. Yes, the opponent is a monster..... The coaches have done an outstanding job over the last few years, they are up to the challege in my book. Im sure that the coaches, players and fans have a full truck load of Shamrock magic for this game.

Good Luck to the Rocks in this most difficult challenge.

From what I am hearing our boys will be heading out about 3:30 or so....that should get them there around 5:30....plenty of time to get the lead out.

The BOMBERS will live up to their name and drop many on Trinity. Welcome to the GCL South, proably one of the premiere if not the best football conference in the country! Bombers in a BIG WAY!

We know all about them...this is nothing new to this school.. ;)

Didn't Ben Davis beat them pretty good a few years back.

Yeah that was 1995....but our last blow out IMO would be the state championship in 2000.

The St. Xavier Bombers will dress over 70 seniors.

It's a credit to the fact that they are one of the 5 biggest schools in all Ohio and they don't cut anyone from their team. Even 5'5" 140lb Johnny gets to suit up on gamedays.

Sorry, didn't mean to let facts get in the way of a good discussion. :thumb:

715 to be exact. Good call. :thumb:

The big school division has 115 schools broken down into 4 "regions" of 28, 29, 29, & 29 schools each. Only 8 from each region make the playoffs. The rest go home.

For the St. X game @ Nippert Stadium against DeMatha, my Dad who attended the game and is a St. X grad (1953) when it was still located on Sycamore street told me St. X dressed 120 players with only 5 Sophmores on the roster.

In Kentucky's new class system, the large school classification (6A) has 36 teams in it and 32 of them make the playoffs.

St. Xavier actually dresses around 180 kids for Varsity. Only 2 of those 180 are not a Jr. or a Sr. The rest are all upperclassmen.
