Applebees and breastfeeding

Featured Replies

Everyone has issues!! If you want to breastfeed your baby please do so but at least have the manners to cover yourself up. The waiter/waitress shouldn't have to tell you too. Please!! Exposing yourself at dinner isn't something I want to see when I go out. I wonder if she would have a problem if a guy came to her work place and exposed his chest!

When they asked her to cover up she whipped out the KY ordinance allowing it...think she had an agenda:confused:

^ I can't believe it's actually a law. I mean, I could understand her ire if it were a crime to do it in public, which it shouldn't be, but to be given the right to go into any private establishment and do it goes a bit too far for me.

Why couldnt it be Pam anderson? I think the women in the picture was on Hee Haw."Lou Lou" I think was her name.

Considering hers was part of a larger protest at some 60 different Applebee's, there's little doubt she and the others went in looking to pick a fight.

Typical of how far some people will take things. Most women breast feed very discretely. There are classy ways to do almost everything. This woman failed on all counts. Definately looking to stir up trouble. Instead of representing breast feeding mothers, she is an embarrassment.

The lady behind the story is the perfect reason for Applebees banning breast feeding.

I wonder why she is not breast feeding in that picture?:p

Is this the best front page news the Herald Leader could come up with? I also think it's gone a little too far, they didn't ask her to leave just cover herself with a towel doesn't seem like an unreasonable request to me.

I would much rather see this womans breast as a result of breastfeeding than a "pretty" girls breast because her top is low cut. I was in a meeting last week and the female accross the table from me was exposing most of her breast due to choice of clothing. Do I have the right to ask her to cover herself with a towel?

Would you ask a pretty female to cover her exposed clevage?

I'd just do what she is looking for with the wardrobe choice and glance over a time or two... :walk:

Top five reasons the father is in hiding:

5. Doesn't want the publicity as he owns stock in Applebee's

4. He's even less attractive than she is

3. Doesn't want friends to know he did it with this woman

2. Afraid this woman may want to do it again

1. He's sobered up!

I think breastfeeding is a natural and wonderful thing. I am not in any way offended by it and if this woman is comfortable with it, I think we can look away. However, she was obviously looking for a confrontation on the issue and it is unfortunate for Appleby's that they are caught in the middle.

Well said. :thumb:

This reminds of the time I got kicked out of Hooters for wanting to breast feed.

I agree with you Gus. There is nothing wrong with breastfeeding, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing it in public whether it is allowed or not.

That's what they make bottles for! You can put breast milk there and take it to the restaurant with you!
