August 9, 200719 yr ^What would that consist of? Being banished to the Politics and Religion forum?:sssh:
August 9, 200719 yr Dosen't Duke usually want a 3 year deal from upper teir college teams out-of-conference, 2 at Cameron Indoor and 1 at your place? Seems like there was a stink about that a few years ago. Who would want to agree to that if it was true????
August 9, 200719 yr UNC leads the head to head matchup 20-9. Why would they want to cancel the series when they know they have/will have better talent than UK & they are closing in on the all time wins record??? Are you implying that AD's are making schedules with their standing on the Wins' list as a motivating factor? If that was true (and I'm 99% sure it isn't) my respect for Major College Administrators would dwindle to nearly zero.

Why would they want to cancel the series when they know they have/will have better talent than UK & they are closing in on the all time wins record??? You act like Tubby's still here. In a couple of years the talent gap will be closed, and we all know Roy chokes in the big ones.

August 9, 200719 yr Anyone who thinks UK is ducking anyone has no clue about college basketball IMO. I was going to post this exact comment and saw that you already had. :thumb: :thumb: Actually, my guess would be that Billy Clyde may want to schedule Kansas. Bill Self is the coach there and those two are pretty close. Like I said - that is just a guess.
August 9, 200719 yr Yeah I know...UK is gonna be so good this year, they have no reason to duck a top team...Since you are acting like you do know about college basketball you would know that just because they are almighty UK does not mean they wouldn't back out of a contract to a team that they KNOW is gonna beat them year in & year out. This is not 1996...Those days are over. Back then UK would have scheduled an NBA team & it probably would have went down to the wire but not nowadays... Why would ANYBODY want to end the contract? The top 2 teams in college basketball history going at it. I don't see them ducking any top teams this year or any other year, regardless of their talent level. I would like to see a link on this. Who really doesn't want to renew the contract? I'm not sure it matters either way. Like others have said, I'm sure they'll replace the UNC game with another top team. I don't really see the big deal.

Why would they want to cancel the series when they know they have/will have better talent than UK & they are closing in on the all time wins record??? So let me get this straight, you really dont know for sure who is backing out of the contract. You are just assuming it is UK, with not much to back it up on why you would be right??? Because the whole UNC leads the series thing is no where near close as proof in showing that it is UK that is backing out. I not saying it isn't UK, however it seems to me that you dont know either and are just trying to assume, and might be posting something that is not true, since apparently you dont know for sure either....:sssh:
August 9, 200719 yr Come on folks, I'm pretty certain that if you look back over the years UK has always had one of the tougher OOC schedules in the country. Traditional rivals like Louisville, Indiana, et al, even in down years have been formidable. Only a UK hater or someone with another agenda would suggest that UK is "ducking" anyone. That might be among the silliest comments I've ever seen here. This isn't high school, nationally prominant programs want and need exposure where they anticipate they'll be recruiting in coming years. Also, coaching friendships etc. do play a major role in where coaches schedule. Give it a rest man, won-lost record? Ducking? Please.
August 9, 200719 yr Think about it if you are billy. Do you really want to play this UNC team this early in your first year at UK? By the way, UK decided not to renew so say what you want.
August 9, 200719 yr Think about it if you are billy. Do you really want to play this UNC team this early in your first year at UK? By the way, UK decided not to renew so say what you want. They are playing them this season. If anything, UK's chances should improve in the series after this season assuming UNC's studs go pro and UK has another year of maturity. Is UK the one instigating the drop from the series??? Maybe so... is it because they are ducking? Given UK's history of scheduling, that makes 0 to little sense.

Just don't like UK. they really aren't ducking. they just don't want to renew the contract. so simple
August 10, 200719 yr Think about it if you are billy. Do you really want to play this UNC team this early in your first year at UK? By the way, UK decided not to renew so say what you want. I think when you typed out that sentence right there, you kept anyone from taking you seriously.
