I'm not sure about always. Louisville and Indiana are given rivalries and appear on the schedule no matter who the AD is. Outside of those two, I'm not seeing the "always tough OOC schedule"

Seriously? I know there are some cupcakes here and there, but for the most part, there is always another big name on the schedule, be it UNC, Kansas or someone else. Then there's always a preseason tournament that pits UK against quality comp. Now look at Florida's OOC schedule this coming season and tell me that UK's isn't far superior.

I guess what I'm saying is that of all the things you can find faulty with UK, I've always considered their OCC scheduling to be top notch year in and year out. Not many (if any) do it better.

That only shows drop off from last year. Look at 04-05 and 05-06, this year seems to be shaping up better than those.

I'm looking at three consecutive years of a decline. I'm not picking and choosing a specific year in the past.

Going by this, UK's OOC SOS (how 'bout those abbreviations!?) in 2007 was #2. 2006 was #34 and in 2005 was #76. Does that not actually show improvement?

If I'm a high school football coach and I schedule Trinity, Shawnee, Doss, Atherton, and Nelson County, is that a better schedule than Manual, DeSales, Western, Fern Creek, and Ballard? Trinity brings that schedule up greatly, as does UNC with the UK schedule. But it's not a great schedule past Trinity.

 

As far as SOS goes, UK's NC SOS has gotten better in the past 2-3 years because Louisville and Indiana have gotten better.

 

I just don't see three really good opponents out of 14 as a tough non-conference schedule. Outside of the big 3 (UL, IU, UNC), no Big10, Big 12, Pac-10, ACC, or MVC on the schedule.

 

Who was the last Big 10 team (outside of IU) UK played on the road? Outside of UNC, who was the last ACC team UK played at?

 

Arguing UK basketball is like arguing religion. No matter if you are right, you will never change people's minds. I think UK can do better when they schedule OOC.

Fair enough. I'm just not sure I've ever heard anyone argue that UK's scheduling is too weak.

Why would I care if you or anyone else has respect for my postings? If I feel like posting something and it's within the rules, I'll post it. Simple as that. Post what you feel. People get on here and bash the teams I'm a fan of, and I post what I feel then also. UK fans are too sensative. Respect, trust me I got mine. Believe that!

If you are going to jump UK for this then jump on 95% of big time programs. It's just the way things are done these days for some reason.

Regardless, they still play them. No matter how it comes about.

Show me one other team that schedules more than 3 or 4 big time programs. Duke, UNC, Kansas, etc all schedule the creampuff games, not just UK. So if your going to down UKs OOC schedule then you have to down almost every college schedule then.
