That last replay looked like the ball didn't get any helmet, but a direct hit to the face. :scared: :scared:

I turned it over to baseball tonight on espn and they showed it in super slow motion - it apeared hit him directly in the jaw. Very scary.

Check out the espn video on it when they were carting him off the field. His jaw / that side of his head was swollen unbelievable.

Just seen the highlights of the HBP on Lopez and it looked quite bad. Why do you all say intentional though? No one mentioned anything about intent to hit on a baseball tonight update during the Cubs and Cards game on ESPN2.
Probably was not intentional, the thing that burns my butt though is that opposing pitchers are not afraid to pitch inside/ knockdown pitches vs. the Reds bc they know that there will be no answer/ retaliation to it. :irked: I don't know if they are being told not to throw inside or that none of them have the................."guts" :D to throw inside but this staff needs some Bob Gibson attitude. (and hs talent wouldn't be bad either:D ).

Not one comment about the double that Dunner legged out...sad. Especially in light of 47% of BGP Posters referring to him (Comically inaccurate) as slow and lazy most of the time. I like Welsh's comment, leading by example. That follows up Brantley's comment on the radio during the Marlins' series that Dunn had put someone up against the wall in the Clubhouse. Obviously, Brantley liked that and was praising it.

Again, I say there is no way that Dunn is dealt.

The Reds need Griffey to get out of his funk, 1 for his last 18. Curious to see if Petey Mack continues the recent trend of giving Junior the day off when a day game follows a night game. Junior, in a bit of a slump, I'm sure wants to play today.

Geez, I missed all of that. I didn't see the double and didn't hear about him planting someone. I LOVE THAT!!!

Again, trade Dunn and you're a ..... :D

Dunn is the type of leader this team needs. They are not that bad, with some decent pitching they can contend next year.

Today's line-up:

Hatteberg 1b

Freel cf

Griffey rf

Phillips 2b

Dunn lf

Keppinger ss

EE. 3b

Valentin c

Livingston p

Castro activated but will only be used in the case of an emergency.

You going? Was supposed to but 'the man' is keeping me down...

Have a ticket for the suite sitting next to me on my desk, but I'm listing myself as doubtful right now. Looks like rain and that is a good 3 block walk. :D

If the weather clears up I may run over, otherwise, I'll feel better getting some work done and following on-line / out the window.

Leadoff again? Wow. Wasn't someone on here calling for such a thing to occur? Hmm...

Really the only candidate.

If you go, look down at the Diamonds. You may see my boy.

More manager talk...Cubs broadcaster Bob Brenly, the former World Series-winning manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks, said he still has not spoken with any Cincinnati Reds executives about their managerial opening. But he said he anticipates chatting with Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky during the Cubs' weekend series if he runs into Krivsky before a game.

My question with Dunn is, do you really think he's around after next year? I have no confidence that this management group is going to spend the necessary money to bring him back. So is it better to get rid of him while you can get something for him, or to not get anything at all?
