July 25, 200719 yr Well I ripped on Griffey early in the year for poor defense and I will give him credit for two outstanding catches. Dunn did his best gold glove impersonation before making up for it with that homerun. Same old story though, just not quite good enough.

I just think Keppinger is going to make it hard for the manager to keep him out of the everyday lineup. A new manager coming in may have the mindset of "screw potential - I'm playing the best players I've got." Could be interesting. You're right though - it could make Freel dispensable. Or Gonzalez. Phillips to SS. Keep to F4.
July 25, 200719 yr From the Marlins series: For example, Freel JUST got over the .300 level for OBP. Terrible. Add in that when he does get on, he gets thrown out stealing 35% of the time and that OBP is even less impressive. HattYburg should be batting leadoff. 406 OBP, 307 AVG and 464 SLG. That will get the Reds MORE RISP situations. Add in the number of pitches he takes and , to me, its a no brainer. However, old baseball guys still have the old mentality. Who's with me?
