I believe that was Jack Morris...

You are correct. Morris pitched a 10 inning complete game to win Game 7 and the World Series for the Twins. . Smoltz pitched into the 8th I believe. That's the game that Lonnie Smith had the big baserunning blunder that cost the Braves the series.

HEY! we don't speak like that around here. Those words are for the DEVIL!

Terrific ending! I can't remember the last game I've watched at my house, though. :madman:

Do you still have nightmares of Hrbek throwing the guy off first base?

Stat of the day II: every major league player that isn't 6'6" is 6'1". Little known fact. :p

Pulled the leg back (normal reaction) then stuck it back out.

Unlike LRCW, who wants his head on a platter, I didn't have a problem with Jenkins' actions.(although I'm always up for a good beanball)

I don't have a problem with it, smart play, but it should have been called. Tough call to make, but surely one of the field umps saw that.
It didn't look like he leaned in to it, just held his position. We both agreed with the call...
It wasn't close, he planted then moved forward just enough to get hit, it was one of the more obvious cases of leaning into it that I've ever seen.
No question about it. If I'm a Reds pitcher, the next time Geoff Jenkins comes to the plate, I drill him with a fastball right between the numbers

Should make for an interesting moment or two in tonights game.:D

I'll be sure to be watching.

Even if Jenkins gets hit tonight, we won't know whether it was payback or not. Since Belisle throws it all over the plate to begin with.
