How many of the guys in the pen aren't ready to be pitching at this level already? Why not add another??? ;)

Adam Dunn is cleaning up when he bats fourth, hitting .329 with 10 home runs. He's not so great batting fifth: .190 with four homers.

Numbers also show he performs best in the 2 hole. .350 and 3 HR in only 20 at bats...

He's off the DL and pitching at AAA. He's healthy...

That's what makes it logical to hit him fifth

$5 says he gets rocked his first outing.

Who isn't getting rocked? Get him up here, get him some work and be done with it...

Thats also a limited out of AB's, stretch that over a year and I think the results would be fairly similar.

He did that last year, when batting 2nd he had great numbers. Then when he was moved elsewhere he struggled. Just odd.

I guess it really doesn't matter. I would reather have him at 55% than Ricky Stone at 155%,

The numbers aren't as limited as you think. 85 plate appearances in the 4 spot and 158 in the 5 spot.

4th- 10 HR, 21 RBI, 15 runs, 24 hits, 9 walks and only 16 Ks

5th- 4 HR, 22 RBI, 17 runs, 27 hits, 25 walks and 49 Ks

For that to even out he'd have to go about 3-80 in the 4 spot to catch up...

That is a little surprising. So then where do you want BP to hit 3?

Would be nice to have:

Hopper

Dunn

Phillips

Griffey

E-5

Gonzalez

Hatteberg/Conine

Ross

Pitcher

Course that leaves no place for Hobbs, but Hopper has some great speed and done a great job when he has gotten chances to start this year.

BP:

2 hole: 209 AB 35 R 58 H 10 HR 24 RBI AVG .278

4 Hole: 123 AB 18 R 36 H 6 HR 20 RBI AVG .293

Rumor of Dunn for Cordero would be awesome for the Reds.

I've never understood why no Reds manager will hit Griffey and Dunn 3 and 4. And don't give me that crap about splitting up the lefties.
