Track the Reds: 2nd Half

Featured Replies

Was I the only one that was waiting for Dunn to get the big hit in game 1 and Griffey to get it in game 2? I thought, "if this team wants to make a run, they need to come back in games like this"...twice...

I was CONVINCED Dunner was going deep and win the game. And then he whiffed.

I was thinking that Dunn would come through also, he has been hot. The "A" team should have played both games.

One a side note: Did anyone hear George Grande's philosophical take on Jr's homerun the night they retired Concepcion's #? After Jr. hit it, he of course said, "That was for you Davey." Which, I didn't have a problem with. However, after Jr. looks up and gives him a salute in the booth, George utters words that pale in comparison to any call by Keith Jackson, Howard Cosell, Harry Caray, Joe Buck and the like.

George Grande: "If you put a 1 in front of that 3, you have 13."

There was silence in the booth as the others tried to wrap their brains around that concept. Remarkable, really...

George Grande is a collosal waste of space.

Completely agree. Sit them today, fine. But when you have that momentum, you have to give it a shot with your best.
Very bad night for the Reds. I agree Major League players should want to play everyday, especially yesterday when it was so important.

I was all for bringing Pete back, but not now.

Over 2 games?

I'm much more upset that they were forced to play a DH when both teams were off Monday...

Good point. Gave them both 7 games in 6 days as opposed to just 7 in 7, which is huge.

I'm not going that far, but to not have your absolute best (hottest) lineup out there for what, in all likelihood, were your most important two games to date, is awfully sketchy. Jerry Narron-esque.

Both played Sunday afternoon with the Pirates in Houston and the Reds at home. No way it should have been scheduled like it was...

You know I'm agreeing with you, right? :D

And this is very cincinnati-fan-esque. The only real change was determined by facing two lefties. It was smart baseball, but alas hindsight is 20/20...

Agree, but still, you have to play like your still in a playoff race. They win those two and Harang on the mound today we would be looking good into the weekend series with st.louis.

Anyone agreeing with GT happens so infrequently, it is hard for him to recognize it.

Pete doesn't exactly do things by the book. He has done a lot of questionable things thats have just worked out so far this year, thats what worries me about him.
