Track the Reds: 2nd Half

Ben Sheets will have an MRI on Monday to determine his fate, could very well be out for the season and so would the Brewers if that is the case. The Cubs are right on their heels.

It's a finger. If it were his elbow or shoulder, I would be concerned as a Brewer fan. I think he'll miss a few starts, maybe make a short trip to the DL, and be back by the end of the month. What's amazing is that Arizona, Minnesota, Montreal, and Pittsburgh drafted ahead of Milwaukee (who took Sheets with the 10th pick) and took players that never appeared in the majors. The #1 pick of that 1999 draft? Josh Hamilton to the Devil Rays.

Dunn with a towering homerun for the Reds. Mets still lead though. 3-1.

Reds go down again. 1-3 in the Big Apple:cry: Atlanta won't be any easier.

WOW!!! That was a HUGE shot, probably the biggest I have ever seen.

3. The Reds will go either 3-8 or 4-7 in the 11 game stretch out of the gate.

.

On pace.

I will go ahead and say that Atlanta sweeps the Reds.

Nah Atlanta wont sweep the Reds. Cincinatti didn't have a horrible series vs the Mets, pitching done well except for today.

When New York and Cincy plays I cant root hardly because they are my two favs.

Lohse due for a bad outing, lefty going for the Mets, no surprise with today's result.

Too bad moral victories don't count for something cause the Reds could very well be in first. Played the Mets well and only win the 1 game.

Hmmmm...one homerun, one RBI...the saga continues...

It's amazing when you look at the Reds all time franchise home run leaders and while Dunn deserves credit for having a great "offensive" career to this point. His RBI totals are OBSCENELY low compared to the other guys on the list. He never seems to get the 2 and 3 run homer, it's always a solo home run.

Would be nice to get that double that drives in 2 or 3 runs. Get that base hit that drives in 2. Really can't be surprised by it, he has been a one dimensional player his whole career and that's not going to change.

The 2nd game was the only one that they played well. They score 3 runs over Sat and Sun. Thats not going to beat anyone.

They lost the first game 3-2 and while they didn't have many chances on offense, they were still in the game to the end.

They win Friday, Saturday's game was very close, even with Belisle walking the tightrope and the Reds not doing much on offense, they were still right there in the game. They didn't have much of a chance today as I said before.

So the offense did it's usual hot/cold routine, but the pitching looked good this series. As has been said before, it just seems like they can never get all facets going for an extended period of time.

Mets weren't lighting up the scoreboard on offense, they only scored a total of 5 runs on Thurday and Saturday, they win both games. Which has been the story for this Reds team all year.
