Track the Reds: 2nd Half

Don't worry, the Red's best chance of winning is pitching tonight for the Braves.

Kyle Davies:cry:

I say the Braves win 6-3.

Is there any doubt that they are trying to showcase Freel? Two in a row at 3rd and now CF...

The interim manager said he liked him and wanted to give him more playing time and that's what he is doing. I would rather have Hopper in the lineup everyday, but that's just me.

Hope it works. :p:D

That's what I was thinking. Although Jefferson Hall will be extremely upset...

Kyle Davies has pitched 4 innings or less 6 times this year. 10 times he has pitched 5 innings or more. He is essentially Kyle Lohse in a Braves uniform.

He only gets around 4 strikeouts a game, so because I listen to George and Chrissy everyday, I can ASSUME he is a location pitcher. So we should likely know fairly early if he is locating his pitches or getting the borderline calls.

Thankfully the Reds leadoff man enjoys taking pitches and working the count. lol

Isn't Jo-Jo Reyes and his 15.00 era pitching on Tuesday? :p

Anyone seen Freel's on-base pct. versus Lefties? Wow!!!! A whopping .143. You can't make that type of thing up. I realize that Davies doesn't throw from the wrong side, but that stat is just too good not to share.

Yeah but it was just his 1st start. Davies is way to inconsistent.

Yep, he struggled in his first outing, BUT:

Joseph Albert "Jo-Jo" Reyes (born November 20, 1984 in West Covina, California) is a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who plays for the Atlanta Braves. Listed at 6'2", 230 lb., Reyes bats and throws left-handed. He is ranked by Baseball America as the No. 8 prospect in the Braves organization

Which means the Braves will likely win and he will look like an MVP candidate against the Reds lineup.

I know, but I wouldn't consider Jo-Jo a lock for a win just yet. Now the Braves are hot as heck right now, so the Reds are catching them at the wrong time, but I don't think Davies and Reyes are great reasons for Braves' fans to be excited. Smoltz on the other hand, if he is able to make that start, that is nearly a lock for a 'W', even just coming off of the DL.

That pretty much goes completely against traditional baseball statistics...

Congrats Freel...

Yeah, and given post #262, we may have to see Valentin leading off. :jump:

I would rather see the pitcher lead off, take EVERYONE by surprise. Then explain in the post game show that the pitcher had a hit against Jo Jo when they were playing T-Ball together 15 years ago.

Oh, in no way am I excited about Davies starting for the Braves, because I know that the Reds are capable of beating some teams. lol

But I think the Braves, being as hot as they are right now, are in a good place to win the game. Offense is doing pretty good, Renteria is killing the ball right now, Chipper is hitting the ball, Andruw has been hitting the ball lately, McCann is getting out of his slump and Francouer has been fairly consistent all season. Hopefully they'll play Salty at 1st tonight.

Salty is at first tonight.

Renteria ALWAYS kills the Reds, so you have that in the bag.

Andruw can't be this horrible all year, might as well break out against the Redlegs.
