I probably came across as being nasty but that was not my intent. UL and WVU(not ready to throw Rutgers in just yet) are head and shoulders above the rest of the Big East but the rest is catching up slowly but surely. These two games are so important because UL or WVU could easily run the table and screw up the national championship picture. Think... if UL held on to that lead at Rutgers we probably would have had a different national champion last year.

I agree with what you're saying. I guess that being one of the first things I saw this morning hit me the wrong way. And, frankly, I do get tired of both sides coming into a thread about the other and always throwing in a caveat of some sort. Sometimes, it would be nice to read about another teams succes and read that the discussion is not nasty. :thumb:

My post had a negative tone, but I would love to see U of L win the NC. I just don't see it happening right now...With a healthy Bush I could actually see it last year...And I never see WV or Rutgers winning it all.

Starting high in the polls certainly helps, as does the Big10s poor bowl showing last year.

 

I think an undefeated UofL easily gets to the title game over a 1 loss team from any conference except the SEC. Then it could be close, depending on the circumstances.

Those games won't be as important once UK beats them.

They are in two of the most important games partly because their conference as a whole is not as good compared to the other BCS conferences. The Big East at the top can compete with anybody that is why these games are so important because pretty much FOR SURE we know one of these three teams could run the table unless they all beat each other like last year.
