If you want to count Arkansas as being significantly better then I think that is a stretch but I will grant you that one. Ok so out of twelve teams in the SEC you have 5 really good teams, compared to 3 out of 8 in the Big East. When you consider that there are two divisions of the SEC and not everyone has to play everyone else, I really don't see how much different it makes, pretty much the SEC schools will have to face 3 or 4 really good district rivals a year unless they are hosed by the league with a bad schedule, for a Big East team they are going to have to face either 2 or 3. And while one game can significantly change a season, I just don't think that you can write off a BCS conference because it is not the one you like. I was actually talking about the upcoming season but as far as last season Arkansas finished 15th in the AP Poll and 16th in the coaches poll. So yes I would count them as signifigantly better than USF, UC or Pitt. Georgia also made the AP Poll at #25 while they just missed on the coaches poll at 26. In CBS spring rankings the SEC had LSU (4), Florida (5), Auburn (11), Tennessee (14), Arkansas (15), Georgia (20), South Carolina (21) and Kentucky (25). That's 8 teams out of 12, Alabama is also projected to go to a bowl game this year. That means that if you are in the SEC East and your name isn't Vanderbilt (its even worse for them) you have to play 4 ranked teams in your own division and unless you get to play both Mississippi schools and Alabama you'll get another 1-3 ranked teams out of there. The Big East has 3 ranked teams which means only 2 games against the other ranked teams for UL, WVU and Rutgers. The Big East at the top is a match for any conference the SEC included but USF, UC and Pitt would end up like UK probably will this year--having to pull a major upset to win more than 6 games.

Louisville, West Virginia and Rutgers will not be in the hunt for the national championship. Zero percent chance any of the three are national champs, or have a say so who is. Simple as that. And I love Louisville. And I like West Virginia a lot. And I like Rutgers a little bit.

This year will have plenty of OOC and bowl games to see how things pan out, but based off the last year the Big East held it's own winning all five of the bowl games they were in and that includes USF and Cincy (Pitt was eligible but denied a bowl).
