May 19, 200719 yr He did take UK over North Carolina. They saw something in him. Maybe he has a break out year. He has good tools, just not real physical or tough.

May 20, 200719 yr Yes you are right OR. BillyG also said Carter has impressed him more then any other UK player.
May 20, 200719 yr I think he'll do fine. Tubby liked his 7 footers but apparently they didn't have anyone on staff that could do anything with big men.
May 30, 200719 yr He is at least as fast as Hibbert from G-town........ And has maybe half the talent...
May 30, 200719 yr I hate how people use the "He had an offer from UNC" to justify he was a good recruit. UNC was offering him their last scholarship because they needed another player to fill out the team so they could practice. It had nothing to do with him being a quality player.

You think they didnt have enough players to practice???
June 1, 200719 yr You think they didnt have enough players to practice??? :thumb: Some people dont understand that there were a lot of teams that started recruiting him. He would have ended up somewhere. Gilispie actually recruited him at Texas A&M. The jury is still out on Carter. While its hard to have confidence in him there is a little bit of hope left in my book.
June 1, 200719 yr Carolina had i think 9 scholarship players at the time and only had Hansbrough and Byron Sanders in the post. They signed Mike Copeland instead of Jared Carter.
