Holy Cross received some money from the Bengals. But that was to upgrade their practice facility. They play their home games at Holmes.

Is Holy Cross like NCC and just does not have the room to put in there own football stadium?

From what I remember, Holy Cross was very much land locked. Unless the diocese has bought up some property in Latonia..............

At Ryle I like entering from the top and walking down, but fans are too far from the field unless you can score a seat in the boat! Dixie has a cool raised patio area and a great sound system. Lexington Dunbar has the premiere stadium, concesssions and a gentlemens' trough. Guys you got to get a trough! LOL

 

At Highlands you know you're at a football game, who needs a sound system, ... the cannon really ROCKS YOU!

I can't believe they have about a 1 foot dropoff at the very back of the endzone onto the track. Talk about a knee or ankle injury waiting to happen. And with that said, what's not level, the football field or the track??

Highlands new renovation has added a raised terrace(sp) that only a select few will be allowed to enter. Sure it's part of the new cafeteria, but it is pretty cool how they incorporated it almost right on the sideline right about where they use to shoot the cannon off. You want to talk about having the best seat in the house now!!!!!!!

What's the word on NCC building a field on the hill? Heard some scuttlebutt on it last year. Seems like it would be a waste of funds being Newport's facility has been upgraded.

I go for atmosphere over "nice". So, unfortunately I'd have to go for playing at Highlands. Never turned out the right way but it's a great atmosphere.

They did.

When it comes to nicest fields it probably will be Dixie, or Ryles now. But when it comes to the older places that still have grass, I think Ludlow would have to be one fields on the top of the list. The grass usually remains in good shape all year, and the atmosphere down there on the river just makes for a nice friday night football game. And also as someone mentioned the baked goods their are also very good!

Varsity plays at Holmes. At the Rosedale site, they have a practice field along the river and a game field for middle school, Frosh, and JV.

HC has visions of one day having Varsity games at the Rosedale site but first they have to find a way into the facility other than their current option. There has been talk of the trailer park adjacent to the field being purchased and a road opened up from Decoursey, but it seems they are miles from getting that done.
