I just noticed this on baseball tonight.

 

Curt Schilling made some comments on Barry bonds in an interview:

 

"He is a Cheater plain and simple, He (Bonds) has cheated on his taxes, cheated on his wife and has cheated baseball". I don't know what interview this was in, they (espn) just played a small segment of it. I am the first to say that I can't stand Bonds (and Shilling is far from a favorite) but my question to Schilling would be "WHY" ? I do not know why he would make statements like this when things are going well for the Red Sox, this can only draw unwanted attention to him and his team now. This coming out after Ortiz has made the statement "I don't really know if I have taken illegal substances or not". (talking about in the past that he had taken some "protien" drinks that were now illegal).

 

Like I said, I can't stand Bonds but imo C. Schilling should be a cantidate for espn's Mike and Mike morning show "Just Shut Up Award". No sense at all to him making this statement. JMO

Nice shot, has nothing to do with why Schilling would call Bonds out but o.k., I can take it.

If we have learned anything about Schilling since he arrived in Boston, he likes to talk, A LOT. lol

People on here have said just as much.....Should they "Just Shut Up" as well?

Will Bonds retire at the all star break if he breaks it or continue to tack on the record until October?

And Schill knows Bonds is hoping the same thing which is why he wouldn't give Barry the chance.

Schilling's comments, were out of line and should have never, included the personal attacks he made.

 

I've always thought, his ego matched his pitching ability....he just proved me correct. Schilling, must not be getting any news coverage in the Boston area, so he makes his own.

I agree that by and large it was a cheap shot to some degree. However aside from his personal attacks i.e. wife, taxes etc, he may be saying just what a lot of people are really thinking anyway. Just my opinion.

That would never, ever happen. Schilling would hit him in the neck 4 times in a row rather than give that homer up. He pretty much said so later in the interview. Schilling does like to give his opinion, perhaps way too much. However, he has always respected the fans and the game and won a couple of rings along the way. Bonds has done none of the above.

Somebody must have been interviewing, and therefore probably asked him what he thought about Bonds. Did you want him to sugarcoat it so everyone is happy? I have no problem with him being brutally honest.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree, or think that it is right or wrong.... but...

 

the guy is opinionated... if thats what he wants to say and wants to deal with the consequences, let him say it.... everyone in the world is not always going to be politically correct when they speak...
