KY All-Star tryouts?

Featured Replies

I am sorry, but you cannot be a 5th year senior if you do not go to high school for 5 years. I understand Haddix broke the rules and all that, but he is not a 5th year senior.
Here is a link, to KHSAA ByLaw 4....

He is considered a 5th year senior. The rule says that once you complete the 8th grade, you have 4 years to participate in high school athletics. He chose to begin that with a second year in the 8th grade, making his senior season year #5. Call it whatever you want, but that is the rule. Great job upholding the rules by the KABC, who ran the try-outs.

Nonetheless you have to feel for the kid. I am sure had he known about the rule he would have done something differently.

Also, when he was told he may get to try out for the team and didnt get to thats another dissapointment for him. And I understand he broke his foot or something while he was in prep school. Its been several tough breaks for him.

Rojas.. rules are rules...repeating the 8th grade is a no no...clock is running...means a 5th year senior...says so in the eligibility book.

Just think if Haddix had of been eligible Hicks would have had to pull his starters in the earlier in the first quarter to keep Oldham Co from being embarrassed in Rupp. I would have thought Crestwood would be huge SC fans after the compassion Hicks showed Forest. LOL.

I hear there might be some "surprises" on the team

Thursday may be interesting

Isn't Crestwood home of South Oldham High School? I doubt they became SC fans because Billy let the OC off a little bit easy.

I think Crestwood is an Oldham Co HS man to the core.

Word is that both Rice and Hill from Holmes will be on the team.
