April 6, 200719 yr It was the players getting alcohol arrests under Tubby and no one was up in arms about that. Actually, a good many people were pretty upset.
April 6, 200719 yr judge not lest ye be judged yourself. He who is without sin throw the first stone. I would wager there are quite a few posters on this board who should have or could have been in trouble once or twice in there life for something and were given a second chance or just got plain lucky.

Ding. Ding....... We have a winner
April 6, 200719 yr Are we hiring a coach or electing a pope? No pope elections, please. That involves Cardinals!
April 6, 200719 yr Bring me Damian, a couple of SEC titles and a final four in the next 3-5 years and who cares!
April 6, 200719 yr I agree it isn't an issue with me, however Cat fans have a history of making off court/field antics an issue with their rivals. I guess they are in for a dose of their own medicine.
April 6, 200719 yr However, one thing I was thinking (as a Tubby loyalist) is that it's amazing that thousands of fans (prominently Tubby bashers) will conveniently look over DUI charges but lose their mind over a loss to Vandy. On the big scale of life, what's the bigger deal? I'm not for one second trying to rip Billy G., I'll support the guy every day he is here, the same I did with Tubby. Just a little side note. :thumb: :thumb:
April 6, 200719 yr It was the players getting alcohol arrests under Tubby and no one was up in arms about that. Players under Pitino and Sutton were arrested for reasons involving alcohol as well. Add Curry, Mumme, Morris, and Brooks to that as well. Odds are if Billy G stays long enough it will happen agian.

April 6, 200719 yr According to the press conference where the question was asked about his DUI, Mitch said he was extremely upfront about it and even indicated that Billy G brought it up first. He admitted he did a stupid thing and hoped that he had learned from it. He said he will make mistakes today, tomorrow and in the future, just hopefully to not that level. He handled the question and the incidenct well in the press conference. If nothing like this happens in Lex, it is a non-issue. Of course, there is a contingent of UK fans that could lead him to want to drink. He just needs to make sure he doesn't drive while doing it.:sssh:
April 6, 200719 yr I also peruse Louisville boards regularly. When Willard was arrested there was a very vocal contingent of UK fans there who blasted Pitino and Louisville for not firing him, then when Delaware pulled their job offer based on his DUI that same contingent praised Delaware for doing the right thing and not rewarding a person who had admittedly made a mistake. There were also those that said UK, being the bastion of morality that they are, would never hire someone who would set such a poor example for the impressionable young people he would oversee. The only reason it is an issue to me is because UK fans made it an issue in the past. I'm still waiting to see one bit of moral outrage from a UK fan over this.
April 6, 200719 yr You know the routine, we won't see moral outrage from UK fans until he doesn't deliver.
