Steve Dodd over Ford!! Pitino already said he was taking his name out before it started. Riley has said he would like to but does not want to recruit.

April 5, 200719 yr I like Izzo too, always have. I just don't buy this whole "style" of play argument. I want a coach who wins, no "style" points for losers. Are people honestly going to be satisfied by playing up tempo and losing 84 to 90??? I'll take winning ugly any day over losing "pretty" or "up tempo" or "run and gun". Well, obviously the coach has to win, but there are plenty of coaches who win and play an up-tempo style. That's what I want. To each his own.
April 5, 200719 yr I do not want Gillepsie or Rick Barnes. Cats Pause.com has the net three canidates in line for the job are Barnes, Gillepsie, and Pelphrey. In an earlier post I said I dont think he has the coaching credentials yet and I still believe that. If it is up to those 3 though I would rather have Pelphrey, he would bring a passion to UK Basketball that hasn't been around since the Rick Pitino days and the early years of Tubby. I felt the same way you did about Gillispie until I did some research on the guy and he's very qualified for the UK job. He's turned 2 programs completely around in THIS decade. Both UTEP and Texas A&M were both bottom feeders on their conference and Gillispie turned them both around in 3 yrs and turned 1 into a NC contender. Gillispie is a proven coach and more importantly recruiter.
