Would Kentucky fans rather have a quick fix like Calapari that comes with the possibility of a little baggage and represents the possibility of going through another coaching search in a few years or a long term guy like Phelphrey who has some Kentucky ties ?
April 5, 200719 yr I don't want Izzo... As much as I like Izzo, his style is very similar to Tubby's, IMO. I'd prefer a coach who favors a fast pace, which is why I'd knock Izzo off my list. Of course, it's not like I'd be upset if we ended up with him.

I want a coach who wins, no "style" points for losers. Are people honestly going to be satisfied by playing up tempo and losing 84 to 90??? I'll take winning ugly any day over losing "pretty" or "up tempo" or "run and gun".

He had perhaps the best college basketball player in 25 years on his team, along with all sorts of talent surrounding him, yet he didn't run a single play all season (seemingly) for Durant at a key moment. And yes, I saw Texas play about fifteen times this year (man-crush alert!) so I feel I'm qualified to say all of this. No thank you, Rick Barnes!

Would you say Rick Barnes would be a quick fix type of guy ? You said it yourself, he had great players, big time recruits, I would have loved to had those kids at Kentucky this year.
