April 2, 200719 yr I know it's one game, but I love anytime I can say "1st place baby" and the Cardinals are in the cellar. Good guys 1-0. :thumb:

April 2, 200719 yr No, the Red legs are my 2nd favorite team behind my Cubbies, as long as the Cards lose, thats the next best thing to a Cub win for me
April 2, 200719 yr Way to go Reds. I love the infield defensively. 1st step to wire to wire:dancingpa

April 2, 200719 yr :dancingpa Man you have to love opening day. I was a little dissapointed in the mental error Freel made today throwing the ball away up 3 runs. In all nice start, Jr was even in the lineup:lol: Do you all think Weathers will be the closer all year or committee all year? Also how long do you think it will be before Bailey is brought up?
April 3, 200719 yr A GREAT Day at the ballpark today for my 1st opening day... Whats the deal with the mayors "attempt" at throwing out the 1st pitch?? The homeplate umpire just looked at the mayor after his "attempt" and acted like he was throwing him out of the game... A GREAT start to the season....LETS GO REDS!!!
April 3, 200719 yr Easy... that might be reaching just a tad Sure its reaching, but we couldn't say it last year after game 1.
April 3, 200719 yr Dunn is batting 2nd because over the course of a season he'll get 50+ more plate appearances there versus batting 6th. That is about 10 walks and 3 or 4 home runs. That is why he is batting 2nd.
April 3, 200719 yr It was an awesome day at the park today. All you have to do is look at my arms and face, and you can tell the weather was simply perfect. The Reds got to Zambrano early, and that is key to defeating him. They got in his head early. Harang was throwing well today. Really only one bad inning. If I were Narron, he would've pitched one less inning with having a 5 to 1 lead and already reaching the 100 pitch mark. He and Arroyo have to stay healthy this year to have a chance. The fans in Cincinnati are really behind Josh Hamilton. He probably got the loudest ovation next to Pete Rose.
April 3, 200719 yr Speaking of Pete Rose, did anyone catch him in the booth with Marty, Thom, and Joe Nuxhall?
April 3, 200719 yr Speaking of Pete Rose, did anyone catch him in the booth with Marty, Thom, and Joe Nuxhall? I caught him in the booth when the tv announcers were talking to him, and I really enjoyed what he had to say....

It wasn't the smartest play, but you can never get mad a guy who is giving his all and just trying to make a play...Also idk about the closer spot, but I should would like to see them go out and try to get a better closer, because I am not comfortable at all with Weathers closing, but then again there really isn't anyone in the bullpen that I am comfortable with closing at the moment...
