Hate to see Harang not get a win after that but gotta love walk off wins. Great boost for them going into the break.

I know its just been 6 games but I really like how Pete manages this team. He might be the best interm manager we have had in the last 2 tries, however since Dave Miley and Narron ended up being so bad, it pretty much kills his chances. Which I understand that because it is time to go outside of the club for a coach and thats what I want to see. It is a shame for him though because he might have been the best out of the 3 interm guys we have had...

(Its only been 6 games so my feeling on this could change alot, but I really like what I seen from him so far and the things he has done.)

+1 Harang really deserved this one. Glad to see us persevere instead of fold in extras though.

It wasn't pretty, felt like I was watching a root canal with french subtitles while listening to Hanson, BUT they got the win.

I figured they would play better with Narron gone, but the true test will be the rest of the month when they play a pretty brutal schedule.

Just frustrating that this team should be at or near 500 and in the race for the division title. I guess with all the frustration the first 3 months of the season, ANY success right now is better than where they were.

From what I was told yesterday Wayne is really pulling for Pete to be the full time manager...

If that's the case, we might as well just cut and paste the first 133 pages of this thread and start next years "Track the Reds" thread.

Wayne will be going out on a limb if he backs this guy, and the Reds fail. If the Reds are in a similar situation in the 1st half next year, Wayne gets the axe.

No doubt...

If he's doing that, he should get fired tomorrow....

OK...

Give him time and hopefully, Coach M can continue the current play. I like the defensive switches late in the game, his not leaving pitchers in too long and when they show the Dugout, they seem to be looser and even smiling, which winning will do.

If they thought enough of him to be interim, they should let him get games under his belt, unless they already have a plan.

No chance this guy gets the job UNLESS he somehow gets the Reds into playoff contention. Not happening. Big Bob makes a big splash.

With that said, and it has nothing to do with the 5-1 record, I like the guy's style. My guess is the Reds will be lucky to go .500 with him and maybe he'll get a chance somewhere else.

It's going to be Bob's call. If he can get Girardi (and word is he's trying hard) then Pete is out. However, Wayne is a big fan of the guy. An important voice in the decision, would you not agree???

I agree with you on all points here FC, good post.

With the last two from "inside" it may be time to go outside the orginazation for the next manager. I do like all of Pete's moves so far though.

Maybe it is the fact that he is actually making some moves and making an effort , I think that Narron had quit. JMO

I think Wayne needs to buy me tickets to every game. The Reds are a healthy 6 and 0 in games when I attend. At this point it seems like there only shot to get back into this thing. :bunny:
