Do you think the reds will be making any moves over the all star break.

What happened? Was kind of busy last night...

There does seem to be a different attitude by the players but it is shame that it took a manager change to get grown men to play as expected. It is not all Narrons fault ( Reds have many issues to deal with) but it seems as if the players took on a little bit of Narron's laid back attitude.

I was at last nights game and it did appear that the players are approaching the game with a little more hustle and desire. They seemed to be playing to win instead of playing not to lose.

I tell you what...I was at the game on Friday night and there was an electricity in the air there. Only about 20,000 fans, but still it felt right. Probably the best enviroment for a game that I've been to this year, and I've been to probably eight now.

 

I think they are playing better, but I'm with ya'll...where was it all year?

As most of you figured out, it's mostly to keep Homer on his regular schedule during the break, the eight days before he would start again (and having to wait 10 until he can be recalled without someone going on the DL) and the need for a backup to Gonzalez at SS. Wayne said they were talking about it before Saturday's start and decided afterwards that it was the best move.

 

Hamilton said he heard his wrist pop before his first at-bat. It's in a cast right now -- signed by both of his daughters -- and will be removed on Thursday when Dr. Kremcheck reevaluates it.

 

 

My guess is he will replace Hamilton on Thursday. Could also have something to do with the whole Super 2 thing.

I know the Reds aren't the only team to make moves like this, but it seems like once or twice a week they are sending guys back up or back down. Just unreal.

That is the result of a starting rotation that can't pitch more than 5 innings. You can keep the same 5-6 pitchers in your bullpen, but when they have to pitch 2-3 straight days, they get burned out. Then what? If the starters were going 7 innings every time out, they wouldn't be keeping the Cincy to Louisville shuttle as busy as they are.

 

By continually bringing in "fresh" arms, they can keep their bullpen from undergoing total burnout by August. I think this was one of the factors that led to their demise last August and September if I remember correctly.

I agree, I know you don't want to burn out your arms AND you got a majority of the guys in the pen can't pitch consistent enough to keep a job down there. I just wish they could find a certain number of guys and stick with that group.

The Reds have not won 4 in a row since Aug. 19-22 of last year.

 

They have not swept a series since taking a four-game set against Colorado in the first series after the All-Star Break last year.

If the Reds keep this up, I will have to stop being so negative regarding this team. I don't know if I can do that. :lol:
