They were going through his stats including his league-leading ERA of about 1.7 and said, "Maybe the Reds will find a talent evaluator that says this guy is ready." With the stats they showed they talked about last night in him getting named Pitcher of the Month at Louisville, no reason he is not up here. Now here is the question I was pondering. Let's say Livingstone has another good to great outing in his next start. If you bring up Homer who moves out of the starting rotation? AND ANOTHER UPCOMING SCENARIO, Livingstone has had two good starts, let's say his next is also good, when Milton comes off the DL what do the Reds do with him? No room in the starting rotation for him. Is he a long reliever? You can't leave him at AAA can you? Do they eat his contract or try and trade him for a A pitcher?

June 2, 200719 yr Homer likely comes up in July with that contract situation. You figure the spots that could open up would be Lohse and Livingston. The savior would take one of those spots, if the other guy is pitching well, that leaves Milton out, which is fine by me. Put him in the pen or just have him stay on the bench and make him errand boy for whatever the REAL players need.
June 2, 200719 yr BTW, Rheal Cormier announced his retirement from MLB as a member of the AAA Richmond Braves. Did anyone else catch the part of the broadcast about former Card/Met, Bernard Gilkey? He apparently had an annuity in his contract and he will be receiving 1mil for the next 25 years....unreal. No more Keeping it Rheal !!! :cry:

The only thing I can think of is they need another arm in the bullpen. Livingston wouldn't be available again until Wednesday. Don't be surprised if Livingston returns to the roster when they need the 5th starter again.

Keep Livingston up, drop Salmons or Burton — who have been pretty useless anyway — where they can get good work in and rebuild their confidence without fear of getting shelled every time they hit the mound.
June 2, 200719 yr As someone mentioned earlier....With the way the starters have pitched over the past week, excluding Bronson, there hasn't been anything to get mad about. When you get good pitching, everything else seems to be secondary.
