June 1, 200719 yr Arroyo now something like 17 runs given up in his last 11 innings. Is it simply a matter of the league catching on and he needs to adjust; is it a physical problem; has he lost some velocity or movement or both? I remember watching him when he pitched for Boston and he had some wicked stuff. I know it was only one pitch, but I could have done something with the meatball he served up to Berkman.

I missed the game. How long did Arroyo last? The Reds definetly need him to perform better than his last 3 outings.

June 1, 200719 yr OUCH! After he pitched that complete game gem in San Diego, his 3 starts have been pretty brutal. I know he lost that game in the 9th at Padres, but still an amazing performance. Pitched 2 innings against Washington and gave up 6 earned runs. Pitched 4 innings against Pittsburgh and gave up 6 earned runs. Pitched 5 innings against Houston and gave up 8 earned runs. His previous 9 starts BEFORE this 3 game stretch, he had given up a TOTAL of 18 runs. Either he is in a bad stretch or he is injured and we are going to find out about very soon.

June 1, 200719 yr By the way, several papers are reporting that the Cards "may" be interested in trading for LaRue now that Yadier is out for 4-6 weeks (or more). Oh please pull that one off Walt. In fact, pull it off by Tuesday (the 5th) if at all possible.

He's hitting all of .113 this year as a follow-up to his impressive .194 average last year and is only averaging 1 K per every 3 AB's the past two seasons. All for the low price of $5M.

So much for that 'Cowboy' theory. Maybe it's the pitchers...
