March 26, 200719 yr The point of my response is that Rick was probably not considered but would have like to have been considered. I personnally would not have been satisfied if UK had the year UL did. After all they lost to their arch rival and were beat by UMass...thought they were going to the NIT and then pulled it together late in the season. UK would have been just as unhappy as we are today.! Finishing 2nd in the Big East would have been just as unsatisfying as finishing 4th in the SEC East? What about finishing the season ranked at all? UK finished with a loosing record in their own division- when was the last time that happened? Failing to beat a ranked team all season, despite more opportunities than probably anyone in the nation versus doing it twice in one week? Losing by a basket in the second round to a team with a consensus All-American versus being blown out and bring it to a 'respectable' 12 at the horn in the same round? And UK fans would feel the same about the season? Ok...
March 26, 200719 yr My point is that UK fans would not have been happy with either one. I follow both teams and I do not think either had banner years..Many UL fans would agree. If you want Rick's record then be a UL fan, I do not like how either team did this year and would not say that Rick is a superior coach to Tubby based on a comparison of these season. They both were bad. Why do UK fans see good in everything Rick does? They both fell short of expectations, Ricks looks stronger coming off a a NIT year.
March 26, 200719 yr How many times did he tell C.M. Newton that he would not come the first time? If Billy D. turns it down watch out.
March 26, 200719 yr Well now that he is off my list, I hope Donovan gets it. And I just found a new avatar
March 27, 200719 yr I personnally would not have been satisfied if UK had the year UL did. That's good stuff...
March 27, 200719 yr The only reason Pitino would leave UL right now is that he can't let Petrino "one-up" him....
March 27, 200719 yr Just repeating what I heard from a reliable source is that Rick is a name on the list as #2 and is interested himself but personalities stand in the way. From what I understand was that Rick wanted it if Billy wasn't gonna take it because he doesnt want to jump in front of as I understand an friend, but Rick refused to contact UK. Uk was interested in giving him another chance and let him build it back to where he left it but Administration refused to contact him. Just hear say but from a person that hears some important people around Lexington. Marq's coach was another name that stood out.
March 27, 200719 yr That's good stuff... Come on man, you see how alot of my fellow UK fans are. You actually think that if Tubby was coaching UK and we finished 2nd in the big east, got a 6 seed, and lost in the 2nd round that they would be satisfied? They would have been all over for Tubby for that too. I mean it wasn't good enough when we were the number 1 overall seed in the tournament and lost in the 2nd round, so if you think being a 6 seed and losing in the 2nd round would make people any happier you would be wrong. You would have had ALL THE SAME people still unhappy and wanting Tubby gone. You UL fans are much more reasonable, but my fellow UK fans are not, and you should know that by now... :thumb:
March 27, 200719 yr Take a look at UK's schedule this year and compare it 2Louisville's schedule and then tell me if you think Louisville would have even finished with a winning record. If they would have it wouldn't have been by a few games. Second in the Big East isn't much to be bragging about. Look at U of L 's losses compared to UK's losses. At least 7 of UK's losses were to teams in the Sweet 16

March 27, 200719 yr Second in the Big East isn't much to be bragging about. Neither is 4th in the SEC East... And as far as the schedules go, you cant really control your conference games, so that is an issue we'll not argue...While we're looking at schedules, find me two ranked teams that UK beat this year...Better yet, find me ONE...Wait....:sssh:
