How about the officiating? Awful! The no over-and-back call, and then Clark comes down and hits a 3 after it! Officiating bad on both ends, but hurt Mason Co. more in the long run.

The officiating was not bad yesterday as many has stated, some just can't take defeat, while others are very gracious, even though it hurts...believe me we remember last year. They let the kids play...what many had stated that they wanted. GRC supporting cast was the difference in the game yesterday. In a eariler thread many ask who they would want to take that final shot at the buzzer...I would not post mine....I will now....Evan Bennett...he hit a HUGE 3 yesterday to put us up by 4.

Actually that 3 made it 61-54 I believe.

Congrats to Clark on the 10th region champs. Watching both Knowles and Miller from Mason over the season, knew this would be tough game. Mason will have its chance again next year with their talents.

Not quite. They were behind at one point by 44 at Scott Co and were blown out by Lexington Catholic. I think this is the biggest upset of this year's post season. Congratulations to the Cardinals. Congratulations to the Royals on a fantastic year.

You may be right about this rojas, but haven't they struggled with injuries this year (Jones), and at one point had Knowles benched for an attitude adjustment? I'm not saying this is why Scott Co. blew them out but this team has had some issues this year and maybe they are putting it together at the right time. I did see them play Male when Male was at full strength ( in the 5/3rd). At that time Male was the best team I had seen play (had not seen Scott Co. play). They gave a valient effort against Male and I don't think they had Triston Jones.

 

This is probably an upset, but it is not a surprise to me as Knowles is one of the best I've seen play this year. Maybe Jones is healthy and others have improved.

Were the kids in the first game going to change their shot? If you think a few extra minutes shooting on a goal in March matters, your wrong.

Maybe top 15,But the bench has to be proven for more than yet.But right now i feel bad for the 4 seniors on this years team they have worked so hard.

Why feel so bad for them?It's not like they haven't been to rupp in their careers.They have had multiple trips when many like GRC have had none in their 4 years.:cry:

Preston Knowles helped drive Clark County, a 10th Region runner-up twice the past four years, into the Sweet Sixteen.

Clark County basketball star Preston Knowles said he "took it to heart" when he read a story in the Maysville newspaper a couple days ago about Mason County fans planning a celebration for when the Royals are in the Sweet Sixteen next week.

 

So yesterday afternoon Knowles and his Clark County teammates made headlines of their own by stunning host Mason County 63-59 in the 10th Region finals.

Plain and simple the best team won today. If these two played 100 times you might end up even. 50-50. As Sumoroyal said Knowles supporting cast was a little better than Miller's today. The case was just the opposite in Winchester earlier in the year.

 

Clark overcame adversity all year long as the battled thru many things both on and off the court. (Coach Humphrey's words not mine.) The Cards were able to win against Scott without their two best on the floor. That is not a knock on the Eagles because they played a heck of a game and executed their game plan to almost perfection.

 

If anything I hope this ends the nonsense about home court advantage because the better team won today.

Win or lose, it does not determine whether a home court advantage exists. There is another thread on this as well. That is a debate that will never end.

It should end because there is such a thing as a home court advantage.
