March 1, 200719 yr Says on Bengals.com that the money saved could be used in free-agency! Really!?
March 1, 200719 yr Simmons is a liability anymore. I always thought Bengal fans overrated him a bit. He was solida few years, but nothing special IMO.
March 1, 200719 yr B Simmons was one of the few leaders on the Bengal's D and to get rid of him makes no sense....

March 1, 200719 yr It makes perfect sense; he is not nearly as productive as he once was and it saves them $2 million+ toward the salary cap. He was totally full of class and a professional, but ultimately it is a business.
March 1, 200719 yr I really hate to see Simmons leave. He was a quiet guy that went out and did his job. Yes, his numbers were down the past couple years, but he's been moved all over the past couple years. He's played all 3 linebacker positions do to injuries and suspensions. He's especially played a lot of middle linebacker recently, and he's not fit to play that position. Some team will pick him up soon. I just hope the Bengals use this extra money wisely.
March 1, 200719 yr Welcome back OdellWith Marvin's past, why on Earth would anyone be suprised about this?
March 1, 200719 yr Simmons had to go because we needed to free up that 3 mil. How else would you expect them to be able to resign KK.
March 1, 200719 yr I just got back from the UK game in bit ago, and I was very surprised to hear about this...But hopefully now we can go out there in free agency and get someone to help us out. I dont think we still will have enough, but should would be nice to go out and sign Clemente from the Bills...
March 1, 200719 yr I think Brooks will be the starter out of camp. Simmons didn't seem like the Bengals were interested in redoing the numbers. Good guy but he's old and it's time to move on.
March 1, 200719 yr How would you feel about a starting LB core of Brooks, Jeanty, and Landon? Depending on the draft, just fine...
