A District battle heading to the Fort

Kickoff is set for 7pm

Harrison Co travels to Fort Thomas with their 0-5 record to meet up with their District competitor Highlands Bluebirds.

Highlands comes in as the 4A #1 team in the state, riding a 4 game winning streak after their opening game loss vs Frederick Douglass.

How bad will this get and how fast will it take?

O and its Homecoming, so there might be at least a decent crowd at the beginning with the Homecoming festivities and Class Reunions coming in to watch a football game for a bit.

Prediction; Birds by 90

Any information on today's JV game?

A whole bunch......to not many, if any. Could be a running clock in the first or mid second quarter.

I am excited to be back in the Fort for a weekend...wish the game to watch would be a little better. I can say with 100% certainty there will be an FT Film and Broadcast stream this weekend. I can also say with the same certainty that this won't be very close. Go HHS!

HHS JV beat Ryle 56-7. It was 21-0 in the first three minutes with HHS scoring those 21 points on only a single offensive play. Junior DL Layton Riesenbeck blocked a punt that set HHS up inside the five with HHS scoring on the next play. On Ryle's next offensive play, Riesenbeck had another TD on an impressive scoop and score sack. It was all Birds the rest of the way with a number of HHS freshman getting solid action.

Scary moment on that TD sack as the Ryle QB was taken off by ambulance after sustaining what looked to be a concussion. Word is the young man is doing better, but the stadium was silent with both teams and fans worried about his health. Thoughts are with him and his family and hope he has a full and speedy recovery. Football is a tough game, but no one wants to see that.

This is the third time THIS YEAR an opponent of HHS has been taken off by stretcher with cervical collar (CCH Freshman, Campbell County Varsity, Ryle JV). Fortunately, they've all been precautionary, but I've never seen ONE instance of this happening in all my years watching football and for it to happen three times in one year is incredibly frightening.

I mean no disrespect, but these two programs are totally at different levels. Hoping all players come out of this one healthy and excited about their next week's opponent.

The Blue Birds fly away with this one.
