I might have been wrong with that statement as I have never seen Santos play.  However, some of these overseas players just turn out to be projects. I'm sure there's a reason this guy is still available.  I just can't believe the local kid never even got a courtesy call.

Here is an interesting over the past year 14 of the top 20 players in country visited the UK campus and we got 0 of those players.

If I am correct in who you are talking about, if he lived in Missuori and Pope signed him you would wonder what in the world is Pope doing.

No, if he was Mr. Basketball of Missouri I would have no problem signing him.

I believe I have figured out what Pope is doing, reference to the kids he is bringing on board.  I believe Pope knows UK is going to join the OVC, so that's the type recruits he's going after.

He also didn't get an offer from any other power conference team. Its kind a telling when his offers are all from mid majors. Hopefully he goes, develops his game and ends up at UK in a couple of seasons.

Well, I wouldn't worry about it.  I'm sure people thought the same thing when UK signed his dad and grandfather.

To what end though? To falsely build up his hope of an offer that never came? Like someone else said, if he played in any other state no one would be saying he deserved a call or an offer. It would different if other power 4 teams thought he could play for them and were recruiting him. 

Like they said on KSR earlier this week. With the new 5 years of eligibility coming, if you took every Mr Basketball you effectively would lock up a third of your roster with 5 players that might be better suited to mid majors or even Juco than to Kentucky.
