I'd like to ask a question without being labeled a "Tubby Basher." I've always supported Coach Smith as I would any future coach that would be fortunate enough to land a job at UK. I know for a fact that I couldnt do a better job coaching UK so I'm not going to rag on Tubby. Why would the Knicks want Coach Smith ? It seems that the trend in coaches going from college to professional sports occurs when a coach of the college ranks has had an amazing amount of success, taken a no name team and put them back on the map or atleast maintained the high level of success that the current team he coaches has had before he came there. Please keep in mind that I am not at all bashing Tubby. What has he done lately ? I understand that he has won a lot of games and had a national championship earlier in his career. I just think there are other coaches out there that would be more deserving of the Knicks job.

Next, What did Donavan supposedly say in this talk show that made it seem like he wanted to coach UK? And where has there been talk about him leaving anyway?

Have to agree with you on that. But if this talk about the Knicks is true, then there must be something about Tubby that fits in the pro game. You could also say that the Knicks job is the UK of pro basketball in how high profile it is and all the criticism that comes with it. But what would be more likely to happen? Smith to NY or Donovon to UK? if both jobs were available.

What talk and where/when?? Can you provide a link.

If this is true about Tubby going to NY, I would find it most likely that Tom Crean from Marq. of John Calipari from Memphis going to UK, or maybe just maybe, That Pitino guy.

I posted a similar thread about Billy D maybe a month or so ago. IF Tubby left, I wouldn't be surprised to see Billy D come to Lexington. He'll always be third in Florida behind Football and Spring Football.

If Tubby were to leave I would rather have Crean or Calipari rather than Donavon.
