February 12, 200719 yr If this is true about Tubby going to NY, I would find it most likely that Tom Crean from Marq. of John Calipari from Memphis going to UK, or maybe just maybe, That Pitino guy. None of the 3 would get a sniff.
February 12, 200719 yr My belief is that Tubby would be a horrible NBA coach. His system would not translate well, IMO, to the pros. And I love UK having Tubby as their head coach.
February 12, 200719 yr Calipari is one coach that I would not want. If I wanted him I would just take the original, Coach Pitino. Calipari is just a cheap copy of Coach P. That said I do not want to loose Tubby, I think he is a great coach. Jumper, I have to disagree with you on Calipari...This guy gets 3 or 4 McD All Americans every year...If you can do this at Memphis(Crime Capital of the World and in the not so powerful C-USA), you're a great recruiter..He also has proven to be very involved in the summer AAU programs and can coach the x's and o's. In addition, he plays a fun style to watch. What's not to like...I, too, like Tubby and hope he stays, but, if he does leave for whatever reason, I think Calipari would be a great choice..

February 12, 200719 yr I found it hard to beileve that any NBA team would buy into Tubbys "system" Especially the Knicks! The Pistons won a championship, the Spurs won two champioships, and the Heat won one with that system.

If Donovan made the statement that "UK was his dream job", no I don't think it would be the lead story on "every sports show known to mankind". I wonder how that story would top the news at "NASCAR TODAY" or on TVG? Those are sports shows that are known to mankind. I don't think it would be the lead story on Sportscenter. If you do you need to cut back on the Kool-Aid. I think he has made a number of statements along those lines more than a few times out of respect for the UK program. So no, I don't think that is right, no matter the source.:devil:
